Bro. Mike
Even as we are now less than a month a away from our “Community Tent Crusade”, September 29–October 2 with Brother Jeremy Thomas (former Youth Intern at Trinity, currently Pastor of First Baptist, Branson) and Larry Grayson (Arkansas Baptist State Worship Team Leader), one of the questions I believe we need to be considering, individually and as a church family, is just what is it that we “Desire To See God Do” in our lives, our church, and our community? In light of those ―desires‖ what are we asking and believing the Lord will do in these days?
As a part of your own personal preparation for this ―Tent Crusade‖ I would encourage you to think through and perhaps even write down what YOU desire to see God do . . . Just to let you know what is on my heart, here is some of what I ―desire‖ to see the Lord do . . .
I desire to see God draw folks to Our Church like we may have never seen before from within our community.
I desire to see God to manifest His presence as He visibly works in the hearts of those who attend these special services.
I desire to see God transform lives people come to know Jesus as their personal Lord & Savior, to see believers renewed in the Spirit, and to see God call out the Called.
I desire to see Our Community be able to join us in giving God the Glory!
Our theme for this crusade is “It Is Time To Seek The Lord”. And over the next few weeks I will be sharing with you about how we as a church and individually need to prepare to ―Seek The Lord‖. I hope to see you in your place this Sunday as we gather to study God’s Word and Worship together in preparation for these special days !
Your Pastor & Friend,

Welcome New
Members . . .
. . . It doesn’t seem possible that it is already September! School is in full
swing, football season is here, and autumn is on its way. We had an exciting
summer, but we now look forward to what God will do this school year. Please pray for our
youth as they enter back into school, and pray for all the issues that come with the school year.
I do want to give a quick report on the Chicago mission trip. We had an amazing week. Our youth were on their best behavior, so we had no issues there. We had the opportunity to work with two Chinese organizations— Urban Voice and Urban Christian Academy. Although their names are similar they technically are not related organizations, but they do work with each other. Urban Voice is a three year old Church plant close to China Town, Pastored by Mark Chan. Urban Christian Academy is run by June Gin, and it is a Christian ministry disguised as an after school program and an all-day summer program that offers tutoring, child care, and other academic helps. They also have several Bible studies, present to the children a Christian worldview, and offer evangelis-tic events. Most of the parents of the children that at-tend Urban Christian Academy are Buddhist, but the academy has been able to use the children as a bridge to the parents to develop relationships and share the love of Christ with the entire family. We also worked with a Nepali Church in Batavia, IL. Amos Shakya is the pastor of the Nepali Church. We had a large picnic with the Nepali Church and had the opportunity to eat some amazing traditional Nepali food! We also spent time learning about and working with World Relief where Keith Draper works. We helped them organize their donation warehouse and helped at a youth club they put on for Immigrant children. Please pray for these leaders as they are daily fighting the darkness of the religions that grip the people they are working with. Also, pray for the future possibilities of working in Chicago. There is a possibility that we will be able to work exclusively with Urban Christian Academy and Urban Voice next summer. The two ministries are blocks apart which would make traveling easier for us! Also, working with the same organization everyday will help us create relationships and be able to more effectively share the Gospel.
