Qualification Programme 18th of May 9.00, Culture, Education and Sport Department of Kaunas Region Municipality. The Agenda of the visit and main activities of the project were presented by the coordinator of the project Dalia Brazienė. Presentation of the Kaunas Region and the activities of Culture, Education and Sport Department of Kaunas Region Municipality. The short film about Kaunas Region was shown (English version). The responsibilities of Culture, Education and Sport Department were presented. The partners discussed about Lithuanian educational system, non-formal education, exams and standardized tests as the material for assessment. Presentation of Culture, Education and Sport Department 12.00, Zapyškis Basic School System of teacher‘s performance evaluation in Zapyškis Basic School. The visit started with the presentation of school, students prepared some musical programmes. The guests visited the primary school classes, library, talked to primary school students. Then we moved to the basic school premises, there they participated in the physics and music lessons. After lunch, students presented history and activities of Zapyskis school. School heads represented a report on “The quality of school activities self-assessment and analysis” and the system of teacher‘s performance evaluation in Zapyskis Basic School. Way to Zapyskis Basic School The quality of school activities self-assessment and analysis After the presentation, we visited Kacergine multifunctional centre and got acquainted with its work. We had fun walk in the forest with Nordic sticks, freshen up with spring water. During the dinner we reflected over the day's events. 19th of May Garliava Jonuciai Progymnasium After the welcoming meeting at Garliava Jonučiai Progymnasium, with a short brass band concert and presentation about the country given by students, the activities of the school were presented by the headmaster Jonas Petkevičius. He gave a clear overview about Garliava

Jonučiai Progymnasium. A short excursion around the school premises visiting the lessons, let the guests have a full picture of the classrooms, equipment and students’ behaviour. Kaunas District Garliava Jonuciai progymnasium Kaunas District Garliava Jonuciai progymnasium lesson evaluation 10:30 The project participants had a discussion about the lesson’s evaluation according to Lesson Protocol. The participants were given the Lesson Protocols and divided into two groups for lesson observation. 11:05 Two English lessons for the 2nd and 8th grades were observed and Lesson Protocols were filled in. After the lesson observation, project participants discussed about the criteria for lessons evaluation, also shared their opinions about the lessons observed. Lesson evaluation report Lesson observation report 12:15 ProMoDi (Day of the Problem Teaching) was presented and the activities observed. The participants discussed with some teachers who organise ProMoDi, also had a ProMoDi assessment workshop. The Day of the Problem Teaching was really interesting for the Turkish partners. After the lunch break, the project participants had an opportunity to visit Garliava Sports and Culture Centre and Garliava Art school. The possibilities of extra curriculum activities for the students were presented. A short concert was given by the students of Garliava Art school. 16:30 project participants visited Kaunas Old Town. Later in the evening the participants enjoyed dinner in Raudondvaris. 20th of May Kaunas Region Education Center The director of the Kaunas Region Education Center Laimutė Ruzgienė presented activities, responsibilities of the institutions and experience of participating in the national and international projects. She emphasised the importance of the quality of the Intellectual Outputs, common outcomes to all European countries. Presentation of Kaunas Region Education Center The local project coordinator Rasa Marcinkevičienė introduced the project’s detailed work plan of the day. Later on she presented the existing situation in partner countries related with assessment and improvement of teachers performance; the development of teachers and school leaders’ competences necessary for evaluation/self-evaluation of the teaching practice (data of the State of Art Review (IO1). Presentation of Data of the State of Art Review The programmed continued with presentation of the Curriculum. Presentation of the Qualification Programme “Teacher Performance Evaluation and Self-evaluation Seeking to Improve Lesson Quality” After Rasa Marcinkevičienė gave the printed Programme and Evaluation questionnaire for the quality of it for each participant. Attendees were divided in two groups and discussed the Programme according the given evaluation criteria. Following the group work each part of the curriculum was thoroughly discussed. Partners agreed that in order to improve lesson quality it is necessary to improve the competence of evaluation and self-evaluation of school heads and teachers. The Turkish partners couldn’t provide concrete proposals on how to improve the Curriculum and the suitability of such a

Qualification programme to their principals. In Turkey inspectors create the Qualification programmes, not Directorates, so partners promised to discuss in detail the Curriculum with their colleagues from Inspectorates and to send their suggestions. The principle of GJP Jonas Petkevičius presented project dissemination activities, filmed lesson in e-Twinning page, web-page www.bettereducationbetterlearning.eu , asked to share good practice and to involve more teachers into the project. The coordinator of the project asked to sent her all information about the dissemination of the project. Planning of the next meeting. The participants agree to organize the next visit in autumn - the end of September or the first part of October. Filling Evaluation Forms. All partners had to fulfill special evaluation forms for this meeting. In Summarizing and evaluation of the meeting partners were very thankful for useful visit meeting, good cooperation and good teamwork. It is a very good way to share the best practice of teaching and learning. The guests are going to exploit the best examples in their country. “The meeting was very important for observation of educational systems in the partner country. It provided a splendid opportunity to share best examples and innovative approaches in education. The ProMoDi approach is so impressive and so easy to adopt and develop in all countries in all levels of formal and informal education.” “Interactive learning in the classes and new approaches such as giving an opportunity to the groups to cooperate in solving problems is a great idea to adapt into integrated learning”. “The system of teachers’ performance assessment in your country is applied in developed way”. “I learned what to evaluate in the teacher’s performance assessment”. Few participants indicated that in the meeting must be more concentration into project key aspects. It has to be not forgotten the aim of the project. The problem for better communication - English language knowledges is not satisfactory. At the end of the meeting the Head of the Culture, Education and Sport Department awarded the Certificates of participation. 3. Decisions

Selcuklu District of Education organized a dissemination event for 23 head teachers of 23 different secondary schools in Selcuklu region. They talked about their experiences in Lithuania and explain the good applications which can be transferred into Turkish education system.
