    Planning a snowboarding trip

Imagine you and a group of friends (4 in total, all aged 18) are going on asnowboarding trip / holiday for one week. Your only snowboardingexperience is 6 hours of tuition on a dry slope. You will each take 500spending money for lunch on the mountain and evening drinks.

    Task

You have been designated the trip leader, your task is to organise a trip to theFrench ski resort of Serre Chevalier. You will leave on Saturday 5th April 2012and return on Saturday 12th April 2012. You will need to consider thefollowing points:

Where will you stay (Hotel, Hostel, B&B accommodation)

How will you travel (Fly, Fly drive, train, car/ferry) Transfers (airport travel to resort)

What will you eat (self catering, half board, B&B)

    How will you book lessons

How will you get a lift pass

    How will you hire equipment

What clothing will you need to buy or borrow

    500 spending money

You will need to do all of the above as cheaply as possible as you are on avery tight budget (who can plan the cheapest trip within the group?).

You will need to hand in a detailed plan, with prices, details, webpagereferences for the above points of how you are going to organise this trip. You must include a total cost.

Google will be your best option for research.

You must complete a word document explaining all of the above factors in asmuch detail as possible. I have some good examples from last year that youmay want to look at.

    Food

La Fabbrica del GustoTel: 0492527377Hours: Mon-Sat: Noon 3.30pm. Fri and Sat: 7pm-11pm+

On the way to the French ski resort of Serre Chevalier, there is a little towncalled Brianon and there is a restaurant called La Fabbrica del Gusto, youwill need your own transport to get to this restaurant, however it is a tenminute walk form the resort that I am staying in. But it is well worth makingthat ten minute journey to eat.

Portions are large and many of the ingredients are made fresh in house, thepastas and raviolis are great and these are probably the best frites in thevalley. Not surprisingly the menu is Provencal and Italian influenced, with lotsof fresh ingredients to balance the heartier mountain fare.

Salads in France are often a meal in themselves, the Salade Montagnarde 9(which is 7.63) is enough for a real man, but is a great starter split betweentwo, as was the India Bruschetta 8.50 (which is 7.21) a nicely flavoredchicken dish with a hint of spice.

Fresh, home-made pasta does taste better. The Saint Marcellin 5.50 (whichis 4.66) was generously topped with this regional cheese sauce and fineslices of speck, well worth ordering and also available in the little ravioli form.

For meat the Souris dAgneau 16 (which is 13.57) is a great dish and thechips are worth mentioning again they were that good and in the evenings

there are several excellent fondues available, including the unlimitedBourguignonne 30 (which is 25.44) with delicious charleroi beef.

    Resto DuoTel: Restaurant: 04 92 21 09 18Opening Hours, Tuesday Friday: 12:00-15:00 and 19:00-22:00, Monday:19:00-22:00, Sunday: Closed

In the same town there is another restaurant called Resto Duo which again, isanother 10 minute walk from the resort.

The choice of main dishes includes the traditional pice de boucher, a thickcut of beef steak served with mange-tout, carrot and new potatoes, chicken

with tagliatelli in pepper sauce with mushrooms and rocket, marinated lambsouris, two fish dishes: dorado and turbot, To be honest I found it difficultto chose because I wanted to try nearly all of them! The Husband ordered thebeef steak which was perfectly cooked and succulent. I tried the chicken andtagliatelli which proved to be an interesting combination of tastes. If you cantlive without your cheesy mountain meals, fondue style dishes are availabletoo.

The service was friendly and professional at all times. It was a delight to haveour orders taken and food served without long delays or feeling rushed,

bearing in mind the restaurant was quite busy. Our waiter, Thomas, recommended an excellent local red wine, a 2007 Tresbaudon, with a soft, oaky flavour to compliment the varied dishes wed chosen. When it came tothe choice between three deserts; almond cake, lemon cheesecake or warmchocolate brownies, we opted for a little of each with coffee. Rounded off witha genepi digestive (or two!) it was the perfect end to a lovely meal. An lacarte meal for two with wine would cost approximately around 70 (which is59.35), but this becomes less if one opts for the formule or set mealoptions, which start at around 25 (which is 21.1)per person.

You can control your speed on greens and easy blues. You would like to startskiing faster and get your skis more parallel.

    Class 3 :

You can happily move around the mountain, but now you would like to refineyour technique and get a bit more style. To book into level 3 you need to be atease on a red run.

At the bottom, there is an all inclusive pack which includes the ski lesson andall the ski hire equipment will be provided, plus the lift pass all for 339 -287.82, which when you think about it, it is very cheap.
