ANU College of Law Graduate Coursework Timetable 2018
This timetable is for the following programs:
Graduate Certificate of Law Master of Laws (including Environmental, International, International
Security Law, Law, Governance and Development, Migration, Government and Regulation, Legal Practice)
Master of Laws (Legal Practice) Master of Legal Practice – MLP completion courses Juris Doctor – electives from online and on-campus programs
Students in the Graduate Certificate of Law must complete LAWS8586 Law & Legal Institutions
before any other courses.
Students who hold an Australian Law Degree are not allowed to take any of the following courses:
Fundamentals of Environmental law, Law & Legal Institutions, Legal Framework of Regulation.
Students who hold an overseas law degree are normally required to do at least one of these
fundamental courses at the beginning of their program.
Prerequisites vary depending on the program you are studying. Please check Programs and Courses
for information on course prerequisites and program requirements before enrolling.
Students in the JD on-campus must have completed or be completing 5 x 6100 level courses prior to
enrolling in any Masters electives. Students in the JD Online must have completed LAWS8712 prior
to enrolling in any Masters electives. JD students can choose any electives except those noted under
Specialisations.
Graduation: Please note that courses scheduled in late Autumn, late Winter and Spring sessions are
not guaranteed to have results processed in time for graduation ceremonies. Individual results cannot
be released.
Whilst every effort is undertaken to avoid changes, The University reserves the right to cancel courses
or change course dates when necessary. Please check this timetable regularly for updates/changes.
Please note that dates indicated on the timetable refer only to the intensive period of the course unless
indicated otherwise. For full course dates please refer to ANU Programs and Courses.
Courses in Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring sessions have their own individual census dates.

Intensives run from 9am – 5pm on days listed unless stated otherwise above or in the Course Study
Guide. The location of intensive classes can be found in the Course Study Guide.

responsibility to ensure they meet their program requirements. For assistance contact
