A letter in the Lancet describes a 26-year-old woman who reported that her male Rottweiler dog repeatedly tried to mount her during the 10 days of each menstrual cycle when she took cyproterone 100 mg/day to treat hirsutism. The dog had to be castrated as its behaviour became too embarrassing. Subsequently, the woman was able to continue her cyproterone therapy without interference by the dog Cotterill JA.
