Apes are not monkeys. An ape has a short, broad trunk. They do not have tails.

Monkeys do have tails. Can be used to hang on trees; Those are prehensile.

Some apes swing in trees;Gibbons are an example.True brachiation.

Monkeys live in trees.Almost all arboreal. They are quadrupeds.

Sandy SunKin Selection (To the tune of “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele) When the storm is heading towards your kin,And maybe you will let them in,This is what is called kin selectionTo make your genes survive. Inclusive fitness is explained by math,And why parents make their kids take baths,And hope they will go down the right pathTo make their genes survive. B is the benefit to those you aid,C is the cost it may involve.Where benefit is greater than what’s paid, Altruism may then evolve. The key to this is relationship,Where r is part of the equation.Coefficient of relatednessOr, rB > C. R is .5 between parent and child,As well as between full siblings.R is .25 for grandkids you filed,And for kids from your siblings' flings. R is .125 for first cousins,Who may have children in the dozens.Nonrelatives may be husbands, For your communityTranscends biology.

Ricardo PalacioBecoming “Culture”

The rules we follow;Behavior becomes culture.

Let us get started.

It is something learned;A mother teaching her child.

Instincts do not count.

Culture is patterned.Randomness plays no effect

It’s systematic.

Two ways it is shared:Imitated and diffused.

Culture spreads around.

Not all about food!Think with your head, not

stomach;Transcend subsistence.

Practice makes perfect.Persistence is the key here

You’re all on your own.

It comes natural. There it is: what makes culture.

Now let’s spread the word.
