It has always been a privilege to know Anthony and to see his teaching abilities – whether with his fourth grade class or his K- 5 Science classes. Anthony has always been a wonderful team player at Akiva, demonstrating great leadership abilities and a sense of overall vision for how to improve each child’s experience in the classroom. It was wonderful having an opportunity to see Anthony take these skills and bring them to a new level this year with his internship, which took him beyond the classroom realm and into a glimpse of the education administration world. Anthony took on this responsibility as he does with everything – with great pride, dedication and a willingness to learn and grow from his experiences. As part of Anthony’s internship at Akiva, we asked him to research the possibility of implementing a structured new teacher mentoring program. Anthony was diligent about his research and was very independent in this process. He made it very simple for us to make informed choices about the direction we wanted to move in by preparing for meetings in advance and writing out for us some of the basic pros and cons of various programs. Anthony was in touch directly with several programs and persisted in trying to find the right fit for Akiva. Because of Anthony’s demonstrated leadership skills, we are hoping to implement this program for the 2015-16 school year with his guidance and involvement. Anthony also took the opportunity during his internship to learn as much as possible about working in an Administration role in a school, and he met with various leaders in the school and explored the types of challenges an Administrator can experience. Anthony was very proactive in setting up time to “shadow” some of the Administrators. Anthony has always been a teacher that strives for excellence, and he adopted the same level of determination in completing his internship. It was a pleasure working with Anthony during this learning process,

To Whom it May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Anthony Graham based on his internship experience at Akiva Hebrew Day School during his Education Leadership and Administration program at the University of Michigan. It has always been a privilege to know Anthony and to see his teaching abilities – whether with his fourth grade class or his K-5 Science classes.

It was a pleasure working with Anthony during this learning process, and I believe that with continued experience and mentors along the way, he will make an excellent school Administrator.
