1. State the demographics of Arizona alcohol andsubstance use and abuse.

2. Recognize at least three early signs of alcohol andsubstance use, especially prescription drugs.

3. Identify the impact of adolescent cognitivedevelopment on decision-making involving riskbehavior including alcohol and substance abuse.

4. Describe at least two communication skills necessaryin interacting early, middle and late adolescents.

5. Advise parents and adolescents on substance useand treatment.
