Oxford NCT branch is led by volunteers and offers local parents and parents-to-be support, services and events, to help them get the most out of their new roles. We aim to provide support before, during and after your baby arrives. Whether or not you attend NCT antenatal or postnatal courses in Oxford, there will be NCT volunteers who can offer you opportunities to meet up, make friends and share experiences at coffee mornings, "bumps and babies" sessions and other support groups.

BABY CAFE All sessions are free of charge

(1) Baby Café drop-in sessions open to all: Free drop-in sessions offering breastfeeding information, help and support at every stage from pregnancy to the end of the breastfeeding relationship. You and your partner/supporter are very welcome to attend, before and after your baby is born. Venues: • Monday: Marston, Ambrosden, Wheatley; • Tuesday: Rose Hill, Grandpont; • Wednesday: Headington, Jericho; • Thursday: East Oxford; & • Friday: North Oxford, Florence Park. (2) Baby Cafés sessions for inpatients only: • Tues-Fri (10am -12 noon), in Room 18, Level 5 of

the John Radcliffe Women’s Centre. If you are in hospital and haven’t had your baby yet, you are very welcome to drop in for tea & biscuits, watch babies feeding and learn more about it; a great way to spend some time! After your baby is born, our skilled staff can help you feed comfortably, or express your milk if your baby isn’t yet ready to feed. (3) Antenatal workshops Baby Café, in partnership with Oxford Health and North Oxford Children’s Centre, also offers free antenatal workshops specifically for pregnant women and their partner/supporters. These are held on the first Wednesday of each month (except Bank Holidays) at: • The Roundabout Centre, Headington (10-11.15am);& • Jericho Health Centre (11am-12 noon). OXFORD NCT: CLASSES & GROUPS (1) NCT ANTENATAL COURSES

Early booking advised! Partners welcome. -NCT classes seek to give impartial, comprehensive information in an informal & friendly setting. As every birth is different, we discuss all possible courses labour may take, covering induction and caesarean, as well as drug-free births. Plenty of time is devoted to life after the birth, recovering, coping & caring for & feeding your baby. -Classes are run in groups of 5 to 9 couples, ensuring people are comfortable to ask questions and try out relaxation techniques, positions & massage etc. Many groups form a valuable support network after the classes have finished. Anyone interested in home birth or positive birth is welcome to attend this relaxed and friendly group. All welcome. NHS CLASSES All classes are free of charge

1 NHS Mid-Pregnancy Class (from 18 weeks) An advice group run by the Obstetric Physiotherapy department at the JR Hospital. Topics include antenatal and postnatal exercise (posture, back/ bladder/ tummy/joint problems).
