1. INTRODUCING ANTEK AND ANTEKLAB Antek is a company specialised in the building of "private virtual networks" with data and telecommunications based in Mantua, established in the early 80s and currently employing 60 people. Antek manufactures the Abilis router which allows establishment and full management of powerful VPNs for free telephony over the Internet (VoIP) and data transportation. In 2000 Anteklab S.r.l. was established from the experience we built up in ICT, especially in the networking sector and on specific applications in the field of video surveillance and videocontrol. This company produces Aylook, a network videorecorder for IP cameras and chiefly deals with:

• consultancy and planning of IP video surveillance and development of special applications like: integration of traditional plants on the network, integration of video surveillance with domotic , anti-intrusion, access control, territory control systems and so on;

• development and sale of new products; • technical assistance, with help desk service.

1.1 Our video surveillance products Anteklab designs and manufactures directly its own equipment and software applications. Here are some of our products:

• Aylook videorecorder: records from any type and model of IP cameras (NVR - network video recorder) and analogue cameras (DVR - digital video recorder);

• Displaying on maps - AyMap: allows displaying of cameras and of the whole system, consisting of AyDo, AyBus, AyAccess and AyAllarm on graphical maps;

• Aylook Mobile: this application allows displaying of camera images on cell phones and palm phones which have access to the Internet;

• Aylook Umts: a modem that allows direct connection to Aylook (if ADSL is not available) and also sending of voice calls (telephone dial), SMS, MMS with attached images;

• Alarm card AyDo: adds programmable digital inputs and outputs to Aylook. Makes it possible to interface Aylook with alarm control units, gate openers, air conditioning systems;

• Alarm control unit AyAllarm: certified professional anti-intrusion system on bus 485; • Domotic system AyBus: a system composed by a series of independent, autonomous modules,

cooperating with each other via a bus without the need for a control unit; • AyAccess access control: Access detection/monitoring system based on RFID readers; • Aylook Regia: an application which provides centralised control of several different Aylook

videorecorders, both local and remote; • AyPlate licence plate recognition application: adds to the Aylook system the ability to

recognise automatically the licence plate number of all cars that enter in the cameras' field of view.

2. ADVANTAGES OF IP VIDEO SURVEILLANCE Antek's choice of offering IP-based videocontrol systems stems from its knowledge that the future of surveillance networks depends on the networks themselves. Using an already wired network grants money saving and dramatically reduces installing and wiring costs. In addition to that it protects future investments thanks to the increased flexibility and integration potential of digital technology. Until now, traditional CCTV (Closed Circuit TV) surveillance systems were based on analogue technology, and usually consisted of expensive equipment like cameras, monitors, videorecorders and matrixes connected by costly coaxial wiring. By using an IP technology based system there is no longer the need for a coaxial cable and all subsequent installation problems are eliminated. The IP cameras are connected to the "Ethernet" network (the one already used for connecting PCs); this makes it possible to add a camera in any point of the system and at any time, by simply adding it to the LAN. A network camera has its own IP address and does not have to be connected to a PC. IP cameras can also feature special functions like motion detect, swinging, zoom, focus/contrast/brightness auto-adjustment and so on.

3. AYLOOK VIDEORECORDERS

Aylook is a hybrid videorecorder for IP and analogue video surveillance and videocontrol systems. Aylook can record using either an Ethernet card (NVR Network Video Recorder mode) or an analogue input (Standard DVR mode). Aylook features multivideo viewing, recording, recorded images playback and simultaneous remote accesses from remote. The images are transmitted through the Internet and are available for viewing also from faraway places. Gprs/Umts telephone dial and alarm card can also be integrated within the videorecorder to send signals with SMS, MMS and e-mails with attachments. It is possible to easily configure Aylook so that it informs the user automatically about any change in system conditions (disconnected camera, motion event and so on) and also use it to plan sending of messages that summarise the videorecorder's operation (CPU and memory usage, occupied hard disk space, etc) and the camera operation.

Aylook does not need any software client as it is fully manageable with Internet Explorer. Aylook is not, therefore, a software application that needs to be installed on a PC with MS Windows operating system, but rather a true hardware equipment with Linux operating system especially designed to operate as a videorecorder connected to a LAN. Aylook can record images from any brand or model of IP camera (Axis, Bosch, D-Link, Jvc, Mobotix, Panasonic, Sony, Vivotek, etc.) and thanks to integration of image acquisition cards with 4-8-16 analogue inputs it can also record directly from traditional cameras (pal-analogue) without using any additional expensive equipment (videoserver). Furthermore Aylook cuts costs down to the bare minimum as it does not need any expansion if additional IP cameras are bought as they can easily be added to any point in the network with extremely low wiring costs.

3.2 PC viewing software Aylook does not require any viewing software client as it is entirely operated via Internet Explorer. This feature makes it possible for any PC (connected to the LAN or remote) to: - view live images; - search for recorded images, sorted by date and time ore event; - complete system configuration; - display system status. This important Aylook feature guarantees: - uniformity of software clients on all PCs; - immediate use of software by customers, as it is based on the most widespread program in the world: Internet Explorer; - no need for maintenance (reinstalling viewing software) on customer's PC after hard disk failures, accidental erasing, etc; - updating to new version of the viewing software (software adjustments will be implemented on the Aylook and the customer's PCs are updated automatically after the first connection); - live viewing of images and control of alarms also on mobile phones/palm phones authorised to Internet navigation (optional module: Aylook Mobile).

3.3 Aylook software monitor The Aylook videorecorder has been designed and built for viewing (live and search) and configuration via the Internet Explorer and any other PC connected via LAN or the Internet. For the easier installations and the systems which do NOT require use of a PC it is possible to connect directly a Vga/Pal monitor to the Aylook. By connecting a monitor to the Aylook's video monitor it will be possible to decide quickly and in any moment what one wishes to display on the screen, by using an (optional) remote control, like the ones used for TVs. It is possible to choose whether to view one single camera, a group of cameras, or cycle between one or more cameras or groups of cameras.

Thanks to the optional module “Kit Tv” it is also possible to watch the Aylook videorecorder on the TV. Aylook can also be equipped with an analogue output. The "Kit Tv" system works with all cameras (IP and traditional ones). The Kit consists of an USB Vga/Pal converter connected to the Aylook converter by a scart cable and a modulator. It is possible to: - connect an analogue monitor (CCTV) by means of an RCA cable - connect directly the videorecorder to a TV with a scart cable. - using the modulator you can also connect the TV antenna and view the images on all the TVs connected to the antenna on a pre-set channel.

4. AYMAP: DISPLAY ON MAPS

AyMap is a software module that allows displaying of cameras and of all other systems (AyDo, AyBus, AyAccess, AyAllarm) on graphical maps. To simplify access and usage of Aylook it is possible to manage cameras and alarm sensors using simplified graphic interfaces. It is possible to import directly in jpg or tif maps and plans of the system or of the video surveilled area. Maps and plans can be arranged on several levels in order to represent total views of companies, houses, hotels, healthcare institutions and whole geographical areas, or zoom on details of single environments or shared environments. The user can define directly on the previously imported map the position of the icons that represent buttons, contacts and cameras. The icons represent the status of a single element and they may in turn interact with the work of the system itself: turn lights on, switch alarms on, display cameras, manage movements of dome cameras, etc. This interface may be particularly useful for centralising local and remote systems.

5. MOBILE: MOBILE PHONES APPLICATION Aylook Mobile is an application that allows displaying of cameras on Gprs/Umts mobile/palm phones. Like the rest of the Aylook products family, Aylook does not require installation of any software: Images are viewed via the Internet browser! Any mobile phone which can navigate the Internet, with any operating system (Windows, Symbian, PalmOne, etc.) and any Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Opera, etc) can be used to view camera images just like a PC. The user may choose the camera to be used for viewing, interact with the dome cameras to operate movements/zooming and define the size and mode of image updating (automatic or manual). In order to display the cameras image on the mobile phone, Aylook must be connected to an Internet line (xdsl) with a public IP address or it must be connected to an UMTS modem provided by Anteklab. 5.1 Aylook Mobile Demo Test the mobile/palm phone application by connecting to the address http://62.94.168.69/mobile2 and choosing one of the cameras from the list! With Aylook Mobile all Umts/Gprs mobile/palm phones authorised to navigate the Internet can view the images of the cameras connected to the Aylook videorecorder. The dome IP cameras and the alarm card inputs/outputs can be managed directly from the mobile phone. 6. UMTS MODEM The Umts Modem can be installed on all Aylook models: this modem allows direct connection to the videorecorder and the sending of SMS and MMS with attached images. In order to view cameras on mobile/palm phones the user will only have to dial the Umts modem's phone number. If the Umts connectivity is used the Aylook videorecorder shall NOT be connected by an Internet line (xdsl) and it shall have a public IP address that can be accessed from remote. The connection speed using an Umts Modem is approximately 5 times higher than a Gprs Modem's. It is possible to configure Aylook so that it notifies the user about any event: motion detect on one or more cameras, triggering of an anti-intrusion sensor, camera disconnection (due to a signal cable being cut), and so on. Thanks to the optional AyDo modules and the Umts Modem that communicates with the outside world via user-defined voice messages, SMS, MMS with attachments, Aylook integrates the double function of videorecorder and Umts telephone dialer.

7. AYDO: CONTACTS CARD The AyDo contacts card grants perfect integration with pre-existing anti-intrusion control units. This component adds 5 programmable inputs and 8 programmable outputs to Aylook. It also makes it possible to interface Aylook with alarm control units, gate openers, air conditioning systems. Each Aylook can manage up to 4 AyDo modules; each module is equipped with 5 inputs (clean contacts) and 8 digital outputs (max 50V/100mA). The contact management, both for outputs and inputs is fully customisable and in fact it is possible to define: - "open" contact; - "close" contact; - Status change; - time impulses management. Contact management can be automated using the Aylook software so that any input status detected may change the output statuses. AyDo can therefore replace an alarm control unit with a telephone dialer. 8. AYALLARM: ANTI-INTRUSION CONTROL UNIT The AyAllarm unit can manage a professional, certified anti-intrusion system on bus 485. AyAllarm is, in fact, a microprocessor unit for anti-intrusion systems. Thanks to the 4 module DIN bar container this unit lends itself especially well to be installed in a panel as part of a domotics system. It can manage up to 32 file zones + 32 radio zones by means of 4 input / 1 output micro-ing expansions or 8 relay outputs. It supports up to 4 LCD keyboards (16-key membrane keyboard with large-type 2 rows x 16 characters backlit display), 4 radio receivers on bus, a multi message PSTN/GSM digital/voice radio telephone communication unit and the tele assistance modem. It manages 4 areas with 3 subdivisions per area, 32 user codes, 16 weekly programming units. AyAllarm is an alarm control unit built in the Aylook videorecorder via ModBus. All alarms and signals are available on the same page were cameras are viewed. Aylook has been built with the generic ModBus protocol inside, which makes it possible to interface the videosurveillance system with all the systems (alarm control units, domotic systems, etc.) which use this protocol.

9. AYBUS: DOMOTIC SYSTEM AyBus is a domotic system with distributed intelligence consisting of a series of single, autonomous modules. The devices cooperate with each other via a bus without the need for a control unit. This way, no component is "critical", and the system is extremely simple and reliable. More than 4000 commands/utilities, connected by a bus (3 wires, not screened) are available in each system. The connection may feature either a star or backbone configuration, the only restriction is that maximum distance between two of the devices cannot exceed 2km. Supervision and control may be carried out by introducing into the system an Aylook which, in addition to native videosurveillance functions also allows full management of a set of programmed and conditioned instructions. With AyBus you can, for example: - manage lighting; - control air conditioning by analogue temperature probes; - automate gates, locks, curtains, lawn watering; - handle power loads, automatically disconnecting non-priority utilities in case of excessive power absorption. There is no limit to the complexity of the actions that can be enacted either automatically or with a simple command.

10. AYACCESS: RFID READER FOR ACCESS CONTROL AyAccess is a presence detector based on RF reading. AyAccess is a RFID Tag reader, especially designed for on-line control on access control and industrial automation systems. Dedicated interfaces allow AyAccess to operate on complex systems networks as well as in applications that favour or require ease of use and installation or whenever non-invasive identification systems (turnstiles, automatic access systems, hi-tech settings) are required for aesthetic reasons. The user that needs to notify his/her entrance will be no longer required to slide the magnetic badge (or any other id tool used) into the reading unit: the badge will be equipped with an invisible chip that sends its own ID code to the reading unit via radiofrequency. The reading unit, in turn, communicates through the LAN and is fully integrated within the Aylook network so that Aylook can, in addition to videosurveillance be used as a real access control equipment.

11. AYLOOK REGIA: LARGE SYSTEMS CENTRALISED CONTROL The Aylook Regia system has been designed for centralisation of large local and remote systems. Using just one Aylook it is possible to manage cameras and centralise the alarm modules of different Aylook units. The software can: - View cameras that are part of other, different Aylook units (local or remote) on the same layout; - Create mixed groups by “mixing” the cameras associated to different Aylooks; - Search in each Aylook unit's history; - Manage several alarm modules of more than one office (AyDo, AyBus, AyAccess, AyAllarm); - Receive alarm events of different Aylook units connected; - Activate the "Back-up" registration on alarms from remote Aylook units; - Activate pre-defined screenshots according to the received alarm. To simplify access and usage of Aylook Regia it is possible to manage cameras and alarm sensors using simplified graphic interfaces (AyMap module). Aylook Regia can also be customised upon request. It is possible to input databases that indicate the "history" of events received from the customers, maps that immediately show the city area in which the alarm has been triggered and so on.

12. AYPLATE: LICENCE PLATE RECOGNITION APPLICATION AyPlate is an Aylook extension that adds to the system the automatic motor vehicle licence plate recognition function applied to all vehicles that stop within the cameras' fields of view. AyPlate does not need any additional sensor (coils in the pavement, photocells) therefore installation is not invasive at all: the vehicle's approaching is signalled directly by the cameras. Plates are read when the vehicles are not moving. Like all other Aylook modules, full access to AyPlate requires only a PC with Internet Explorer as a web browser. The full integration with Aylook and AyDo, AyAllarm, AyBus, AyAccess makes it a perfect tool for automated (also remote) management of garages and parking lots. AyPlate can: - record: pictures, licence plate number, date and time of passage of each vehicle; - draw multiple lists of vehicles, sorted in groups: authorised, not authorised, suspect and so on; - send notices or carry out complex actions depending on the group the identified plate belongs to: . control automated barriers having them perform actions depending on the recognised licence plate; . notify an operator in case of request of access by an unauthorised vehicle; . notify the security staff in case of passage of vehicles classified as suspect; - allow complete remote access via Lan/Wan; - remotise alerts and automations: . manage operator rescue call buttons; . manually control barriers to allow entrance also to unauthorised vehicles; . notification of problems to cameras and system overloads.

13. EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS 13.1 Application example: secondary residence Additional functions offered by Aylook with the Mobile and Gprs/Umts Modem modules: - remote access by PC or palm phone/mobile phone to all Aylook videorecorder functions; - if ADSL connection is not available, remote connection via the built-in Gprs/Umts modem; - delivery of SMS, MMS and voice messages in case of alarms or other events; - robbery protection equipment: videosurveillance via a portable terminal directly from the car. It is possible to check whether there are criminals or hostile people in ambush inside the property while staying outside it and free from danger; - the AyDo card can also provide: remote control of heating, air conditioning, watering system. It is also possible to switch on and off all systems utilities by PC and mobile.

13.2 Application example: doorbell/gate opener Scenario: When the entrance doorbell is pushed, AyDo activates the surveillance camera, buzzes the virtual doorbell and switches on the relevant light on the Ingressi/Uscite Live [Live Inputs/Outputs] panel. When the virtual button “Apri cancello” [Open Gate] is pushed, the gate is opened and the camera is switched off. Description: AyDo's output 1 has been connected to a relay that controls the gate opening and closing, the surveillance videocamera power supply is connected to output 2 while the gate opening button is connected to AyDo's input 1 When the key is pressed, the status of input 1 changes, a fact which triggers the related actions: the virtual doorbell buzzes (event with acoustic notification), the lights in the Ingressi/Uscite panels switches on (warning light status changes) and the Output 2 status changes, and as a consequence of this the gate camera is switched on and powered thanks to the relay.

13.3 Aylook Configuration: actions/reactions system Aylook is the only digital videorecorder that lets you customise your own videosurveillance and anti-intrusion system to suit even the most diverse needs. Thanks to a setup of actions/reactions it is for example possible to forecast "initial" situations (a sensor or a camera has detected movement, a camera is disconnected, a license plate number is accepted/rejected, the system detecst a temperature alarm or

hard disk breakdown, the RFID central control unit detects passage of a person and so on) and link them with “final” reactions (start recording from a camera, send a SMS or voice call, move the speed dome to a pre-defined preset point, close a contact or generate an impulse in one of the outputs of the AyDo card, export a video etc). 13.4 Application example: surveillance firm The images sent to each single customer's Aylook videorecorders are delivered to the control room via an ADSL line. In this way it is possible to cut down to the minimum the delay between the moment the alarm is triggered and the images are checked by the appointed staff. The control room will host Aylook Regia that carries out a double activity: - collecting images originating from more than one point to guarantee simultaneous vision (we recommend using high resolution monitors); - record images from shops fitted with alerts (only for the duration of the alarm). In case an alarm is received the monitor will display images originating from the cameras of the alarm-equipped customer. You may also view, at any time, cameras connected to several different videorecorders also if no alarm signals are received. 13.5 Application example: parking Additional functions offered by Aylook with the AyPlate module: - recording images of the vehicles and drivers in transit; - reading licence plates of incoming and outgoing cars, including the possibility to automatically open barriers and gates; - manual control of barriers using the Aylook console (with a non-dedicated personal computer, or a mobile/palm phone); - sending e-mails, SMS, MMS, voice messages to the operators in case of alarms (failures, blocked user, fire, and so on); - generating a list with: Licence plate number, date and time of exit.

AyMap optional module: - Simplifies access and usage of Aylook by managing cameras and alarm sensors with simplified graphic interfaces, it also can directly import maps and plans of the system or of the videosurveilled area. Umts modem optional module: - this modem allows direct connection to the videorecorder and the sending of SMS and MMS with attached images. AyDo optional module: - contact card that adds 5 programmable inputs and 8 programmable outputs to Aylook. Makes it possible to interface Aylook with alarm control units, gate openers, air conditioning systems, etc. AyAccess optional module: - presence detector based on RF reading of a badge (or other RFID recognition devices). AyBus optional module: - domotic system with distributed intelligence consisting of a series of single, autonomous modules. The devices cooperate with each other via a bus, and are directly controlled by Aylook. AyModBus optional module: - the generic ModBus protocol has been implemented inside Aylook. This protocol makes it possible to interface the videosurveillance system with all the systems (alarm control units, domotic systems, etc.) which use it.
