I installed ANSYS 13.0 a few times on my Windows 7 x64 laptop, tried all the sol utions recommended, however I could not get FLEXlm server working. I know this p robably won't be solution to all problems, but here is what I did: 1. After restarting Windows, I turned off all wireless adapters. 2. I checked all the ports using netstat -ano on terminal. 3. Found the PID of the process listening to 1055. 4. Using task manager, I killed it (lmgrd.exe). 5. Started Server ANSLIC_ADMIN utility with administrator privileges. 6. Started LM and voila, FLEXIm started running. 7. After this point, ANSYS products start with no further issues. 8. Turning back WIFI on does not seem to have an ill effect after the products s tart working. Note for the license file for an installation on a laptop: The best way is using the option of displaying license server machine host id in Server ANSLIC_ADMIN utility. Copy the server name and MAC address from there.
