NSFailure to read, understand and obey the operator's manual and the following safety rules will result in death or serious injury.

Improper Use HazardThe operator is responsible for safemachine operation.This includes:

1 Avoid hazardous situations.

2 Always perform a pre-operation inspection.

3 Always perform function tests prior to use.

4 Inspect work place.

5 Only use the machine as it was intended.

Do not operate unless:

You read, understand and obey:- manufacturer’s instructions and safetyrules — safety and operator's manuals anddecals- employer’s safety rules-applicablegovernmental regulations

You are properly trained to safely operate thismachine.

Tip-over HazardsDo not use Super-Straddle except with aGenie AWP.

Do not use on a sloping surface unless allfour swivel casters are locked in aposition crossing the slope and theirbrakes are applied.

Do not operate the Super-Straddle unlessall four Genie AWP outriggers andproperly installed in the Super-Straddlebase, screw jack pads are in firm contactwith the ground and the straddle platformis level.

Do not operate the machine unless allretaining pins are properly installed.

Do not operate the Super-Straddle oradjust or remove outriggers when theplatform is occupied or elevated.

Collision HazardsBe aware of overhead obstructions.The Super-Straddle adds 4 ft / 1.2 m to the working height ofthe Genie AWP being used.

Electrocution HazardsThe Super-Straddle is not electrically insulated andneither by itself or together with the Genie AWP willnot provide protection from contact with or proximityto electrical current.

Damaged Machine HazardsDo not use a damaged or malfunctioning machine.

Do not use the machine if either cable is worn,frayed or kinked.

Conduct a thorough pre-operation inspection of themachine and test all functions before each workshift. Immediately tag and remove from service adamaged or malfunctioning machine.

Be sure all maintenance has been performedas specified in this manual and theappropriateservicemanual.

Be sure all decals are in place and legible.

Be sure the Genie AWP operator’s, safety,and responsibilities manuals are complete,legible and in the storage container located inthe Genie AWP platform.

Be sure the Super-Straddle operator’s manualis complete, legible and in the storagecontainer locatedonSuper-Straddle.

Maintain proper lubrication on the winches.Sonot allow oil or grease on the brakingsurfaces.

See operator's manual forcomplete safety andoperating instructions.

Setup1 PositionSuper-Straddle

on a firm, level surface.

2 Apply brakes to bothswivel casters on baseframe.

3 Removestraddlesocket retaining pinsfrom base frames andseparate them.

4 Remove ladder frombase frame crossmember and set itaside.

5 Release both swivelcaster brakes and alignbase frame behindGenie AWP.

Operating Instructions6 Remove all four straddle sockets

from base frame and installthem in Genie AWP outriggersockets. Genie AWP must befully lowered.

7 Push base frame carefullythrough all four straddle sockets.This may require 2 people. Besure straddle sockets are overalignment spacers on baseframe.

8 Insert straddle socket retainingpins through two straddlesockets closest to fixed casters.Be sure holes are aligned andpin is completely inserted.

9 Align telescoping base frame infront of Genie AWP, and theninsert and push it into baseframe.

10 Adjust Super-Straddle to desiredlength.

11 Insert straddlesocket retaining pins(attached to straddlesockets at front ofGenieAWP) throughstraddle lengthadjustment holes.

12 Unhook cords fromstorage positions,and connect plugs ineachstraddlesocket.

13 Install a Genie AWPoutrigger at eachcorner of Super-Straddle.

1 Be sure Genie AWP is fully lowered.

2 Raise straddle platform just enough to lift theGenie AWP casters off the ground by turningeach winch handle in a clockwise rotation. Ifframe retaining pins are inserted, remove all 4frame retaining pins before cranking.

3 If outriggers are not installed, install all 4Genie AWP outriggers.

4 Push Super-Straddle into position next toobject to be straddled.Two people arerequired to position Super-Straddle if groundsurface is sloped.

5 Lock swivel casters closest to the object tobe straddled in desired direction of travel.Tolock swivel caster, pull out on ring, turn ring90 degrees and let go.

6 Adjust outrigger screw jacks so pads areclose to, but do not touch, ground surface.

7 Using winches, raise straddle platform to alevel height just above object to be straddled.

8 Install frame retaining pins at eachcorner of Super-Straddle, and releasetension on winch cable.To insert frameretaining pins, align holes and lift up ongray tab on pin retaining interlock box.

Note: Be sure to use same hole position for both pinson one end frame.

9 If cables are not connected, connect electricalcables to AWP sockets.

10 Carefully push Super-Straddle over object to bestraddled and apply all four swivel caster brakes. Ifground surface is sloped, set and lock swivelcasters at a right angle to the slope.Two people arerequired to position Super-Straddle if ground surfaceis sloped.

11 Adjust outrigger screw jacks so that pads are in firmcontact with ground and Super-Straddle casters areslightly off ground. Use bubble level on Genie AWPto level straddle platform.The bubble level is onbase of AWP, below interlock display.

12 Place ladder on Super-Straddle directly below basketentry. Pull snap pins on each side of the ladder to lowerbottom step.

13 Operate Genie AWP.

Lowering the Straddle Platform1 Fully lower Genie AWP.

2 Slightly raise outriggers.

3 Carefully push Super-Straddle away from straddle object.Return machine to a firm level surface.

4 Remove frame retaining pins from each corner of Super-Straddle. Holes must be aligned to remove pins. Usewinch to align holes if needed.

5 Turn winch handle to lower straddle platform. It may benecessary to lower one end frame part way and then lowerotherend.

6 Continue turning winch handles until both end frames arelowered.
