Style of Photography ● He took Landscape environmental photographs ● He loved nature and wanted to show the beautiful parts

of it ● His first photographs were at age 14 at a family trip to

Yosemite National Park ● There he got an interest in recording nature and

conservation in wilderness camps

Where his work Appears ● The Exhibition of Oakland Museum of California has

approximately 80 Photographs of his also including other photographers from the Sierra club so people can compare and contrast their work

FActs :● He played the Piano ● He gave up the piano for the camera in 1928● He broke his nose during the 1906 San Francisco

earthquake. His nose stayed crocked throughout his life ● He was transferred out of a handful of schools before his

parents decided to homeschool ● His first camera was a Kodak No. 1 Box Brownie and his

subject was nature

appears mainly the first one ● I loved the different shades in this photograph for

example the trunk is darker than the branches
