FROM FATHER MICHAEL
We are a Church of inclusion not exclusion; we do not reprimand we welcome them. My beloved in Christ I joyfully anticipate visiting with you all and listening to your dreams and con-cerns. I anticipate blessing your homes, those who are churched or unchurched and to share with you the Love of God and His Church. I have come to serve you my Spiritual Children and please know that I will be there for your Spiritual needs. I assure you I am a priest you can call at all times. My office door is always open and welcoming. This is a new chapter in the beautiful history of our Parish, may it be Blessed by His Grace. Presvytera Cyndy and I look forward to many happy and Blessed years with you as we will become family. May the Panagia of the Annunciation Bless us all. Χριστος Ανεστη! In His Love, Father Michael +V. Rev. Michael A. Kouremetis
Beloved In Christ,
Χριστος Ανεστη!
In the love of our Resurrected Lord and Savior I greet you. I give thanks to God for His Blessing by bringing me to this historic and vibrant Parish. I also thank his Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, the Shepard of our Metropolis, for assigning me as your Proistamenos. His Eminence has given me the Blessed responsibility of being your Spiritual Father. I have come to the Annunciation Parish to serve and not to be served. I come to preach and teach the Word of the Resurrected Lord and to bring the love and knowledge of Christ. I have come to minister to all the faithful, churched and unchurched and to bring all to the “Chalice of Life”. My beloved Spiritual Children we will work together young and old in harmony, peace and love. We do this for the Glory of God and in the spirit of a “shared ministry”. With the Grace of God we will continue to grow upon the wisdom and sacrifice of our parents and grand-parents and all the visionaries that established this Parish. We will look for continued leadership and direction from our Parish Council and from all the leaders of our Ministries Team. We thank God for their unconditional strength and example. We ask our Lord for His continued Blessing upon their Diakonia. The most important ministry to me is our youth. We must care for our youth and encourage their input. We must instill in them the knowledge and im-portance of Christ. Our children live in a changing society, as we all do, and it is paramount that we give them the tools needed to survive in His Name and remain strong and dedicated Orthodox Christians. We continue praying to God for His continued nur-turing of our children’s “Christian Talents” so that they will step up, in their time, to be the leaders of this “shared ministry”. We must remember “If you don’t hear crying your Church is dying”. We must encourage our younger families to come and worship as a family no matter how young their children are.

PRESIDENT’S CORNER
Χριστός Ανέστη Dear Parishioners, On behalf of Father Michael, and the Parish Council, I hope that you and your families had a joyous Pascha. As you know, we are approaching the mid point towards the 50 day celebration of the Feast of The Holy Pentecost. Pentecost in Greek means fifty. On this fiftieth day after Pascha The Holy Spirit descended from the Heavens upon the Apostles as described in the Book of Acts (Acts 2:1-4). The Holy Spirit descended as divided tongues of fire upon the Apostles which enabled them to go out and preach the Word of God in different languages. On Pentecost, let us celebrate the “Birthday of The Orthodox Church” as declared this day by the Holy Fathers of our church. May we follow in the teachings of our Church and perpetuate our glorious Orthodox faith as did the Apostles. Let us also keep in mind that the Church needs to be in the center of our family lives so as to enable us to draw needed strength when dealing with life's difficulties. On behalf of all the Parish Council and the parishioners at our Church I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Fr. John Kiramarios, who was gracious enough to come out of full retirement and be our interim Priest for 3 months while we await the installation of our church's new priest. We are truly appreciative of your moving services especially during Holy Week and we thank you for looking after the needs of our parishioners and our church. We look forward to seeing and praying with you in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox church of Brockton - the Church that you helped build and nurtured over the past 37+ years. On behalf of the Parish Council and the entire parish membership I would like to welcome Fr. Michael Kouremetis and Presbytera Cynthia to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church as its new Proistamenos. We wish you many fruitful and blessed years in your new ministry here with us in Brockton as we look forward to working closely with you perpetuating our Orthodox Faith. In last month's bulletin, the Parish Council and I asked you to consider making an additional donation above and beyond your stewardship pledges to help defray a portion of the Church's on-going costs as we undertake additional needed repairs and maintenance work such as: 1. Painting of the inside of the Church Proper, 2. Landscaping: replanting of trees and lighting in the front of
our church. As outlined before, we need to raise $30,000.00 in order to begin and complete these projects. We are hopeful that with the assistance of the 350 families of stewards in our parish we can raise the proceeds necessary to make these projects a reality and keep the appearance of our house of worship pristine. Additionally, through your generosity we can avoid the need to borrow the funds from a financial institution and forgo the obligations and costs associated with such a process.
On Sunday April 01, 2018, we hosted our Second Annual Palm Sunday luncheon in our community center. Over 225 Stewards gathered in Christian fellowship taking pleasure in each other's company and enjoying a fine meal as we prepared ourselves for Holy Week and the Resurrection of our LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ. A special thank you goes out to the Alexopoulos, Arvanitides, Coutsoumbos, Giannaros, Potsis and Regas families as well as to the Supreme House of Pizza for donating all the food and beverages at this wonderful luncheon. Also, I'd like to thank the Parish Council members as well as numerous volunteers who helped prepare and serve the meals and cleaned up the hall after the luncheon. Important upcoming events that we look forward to seeing everyone attend:
THURSDAY, MAY 03, 2018 The 225 Hungry Friends Event to be held in our Community Center.
SUNDAY, MAY 06, 2018 The official Installation by His Eminence, Metropolitan Methodios of Fr. Michael Kouremetis as our Church's new Proistamenos. Come join us to celebrate with Fr. Michael and Presbytera Cynthia on this special day.
SATURDAY, May 12, 2018 ELLINIKI VRADIA
Welcoming Fr. Michael and Presbytera Cynthia. Proceeds from this evening's event will benefit the Κιβωτό του Κόσμου, Κάλεσμα project. The event to be held in our community center. Please see the insert in the bulletin for time and ticket cost. SATURDAY & SUNDAY MAY 19th & 20th 2018
Philoptochos Mini food festival
MONDAY JUNE 25, 2018 Annual Golf Tournament to be held at the Easton Country Club. As you can see, together we are making positive strides in strengthening our involvement and commitment in the life of our church. In closing, I continue to encourage and welcome all of you, both young and old alike, to come forward and join our family of volunteers in Christian fellowship. " Not only must we be good, but we must also be good for something." ~ Henry David Thoreau ~ Respectfully yours, Nicholas H. Babanikas President, Parish Council

GREEK SCHOOL The Anniversary of Greek Independence Day was cele-brated by our Greek School Students on Saturday, March 24th in our Community Center. The children recited a pro-gram depicting true events which took place during the long struggle of our forefathers to cast off the Turkish yoke. All of the children looked and performed beautifully!!!We thank the parents who dutifully bring their children to Greek School and for the lovely reception that they prepare and everyone who honored us with their attendance at the program.
