ANNUAL TITLE I MEETING / 1st PTA Meeting
September 2020-2021
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended
by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, requires that
each Title I School hold an Annual Meeting for parents/families/community members for the purpose of:
● Explaining the requirements of Title I
● Informing you of your school’s participation in Title I services
● Explaining your rights as parents to be engaged

Title I School

Title I is the largest federally funded educational program. A Title I school is a school receiving federal funds for students. The basic principle of Title I is that schools with large concentrations of low-income students (EDS-educationally disadvantaged students) receive supplemental funds to meet students’ educational goals.
Title I schools have a Population of 75% or more economically disadvantaged students which is the criteria for qualifying to become a Title I school in CMS
Title I schools provide Equal Opportunities for all students
Federal guidelines must be followed or schools could lose funding

A school-wide program is designed help schools meet students’ educational goals.
It is a comprehensive plan that focuses on research-based instructional strategies that are designed to meet the needs of every child.
Instruction must be provided by highly-qualified staff.
As a school-wide program, we are required by local,federal, and state laws to incorporate (ten) Title Icomponents in our School Improvement Plan.

through Pick Up Time.
Read with your child and practice math facts each day- even on the weekends)
Support your child with being on time in class daily “Virtually or In-person”.
Remind your child that Zoom Cameras must be on at all times. (Unless they are tending to personal needs.)
