2015Annual ReportDomestic Violence

Intervention Services, Inc.

A NOTE FROM TRACEYYear in ReviewPivotal changes happened for domestic violence victims in late 2014. DVIS also had exciting changes, including opening our new shelter and transitional housing and unveiling our new branding.

November 2014: The Tulsa County District Court established the Integrated Domestic Violence (IDV) Court, a collaborative effort that selects protective order and criminal domestic violence cases and places them in front of one judge. DVIS provides an IDV court advocate to provide resources for victims of domestic violence.

November 2014: The governor signed into law a lethality assessment protocol, which requires law enforcement to ask domestic violence victims 11 questions at the scene to assess their danger level. Based on the results of the assessment, officers then refer victims to programs like DVIS.

February 2015: DVIS underwent an extensive rebranding effort and unveiled our new brand on Feb. 6, 2015.

MISSIONRebuilding lives affected by domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, shelter, counseling and education.

VISIONWe will have a safer community by fostering social change, ending domestic and sexual violence, healing survivors and saving lives.

March 2015: On March 31, 2015, we hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening for our emergency shelter. We are on track to shelter more people in our first full year than ever.

2016: As I look to the year ahead, DVIS will celebrate 40 years of service in the Tulsa community. Our theme is “40 years of history makers and game changers,” and, as I review our rich history, so many of these individuals and foundations have left a profound impact on this organization. Their vision, commitment and support has shaped the quality and quantity of services available to survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Tulsa.

Thank you for supporting DVIS. Together we are saving lives.
