“Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley

truly saved my family and I. If it wasn’t for the

homeownership program, I wouldn’t be the

leader that I am today. This program has not

only blessed my family and I with an extremely

beautiful house where I can lay my head at

night, study, and complete my school work, but

also a safe place that I call home.

I stood by my mother’s side through the

whole process. My sister and I would help her

during late nights while she would put letters

into envelopes, or we would go with her to do

volunteer work. That whole experience has

impacted me to want to give back and also

volunteer. Just a couple of months ago, I told

my mom that I’d like to work for a nonprofit

organization after college, and she was

surprised when I told her. I said I would like to

give back to those who helped me get where I

am today, and Habitat for Humanity of the

Lehigh Valley sure did help! They didn’t give us

a house - they gave us a home - and I will

always be thankful for the organization and

those who assisted in making a home for my

family and I.”

She’s been accepted to Temple University Fox School of Business, Arcadia University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Pace University, University of Tampa, Penn State University, and Cedar Crest College.
