The Stampeders Foundation is the charitable arm of the Calgary Stampeders Football Club. The Foundation is working towards a healthier and brighter future for people in Calgary and Southern Alberta by supporting grassroots and minor football programming, health and wellness programs and education.

50/50 PROCEEDS FOR MINOR FOOTBALLThrough the sales of 50/50 tickets at Calgary Stampeders home games, the Calgary minor football teams had the chance to raise funds for their teams. Last year the Calgary Stampeders Foundation distributed $215,684 to support the Calgary Bantam Football Association and the Calgary Colts minor football. $40,000 was also distributed to the University of Calgary Dinos.

CALGARY BANTAMFOOTBALL ASSOCIATIONThis past season, the Stampeders Foundation presented the Calgary Bantam Football Association with a cheque for $118,684. The proceeds went towards the administration and operational costs of minor football programs in the city of Calgary.

COLTS This season the Stampeders Foundation presented the Calgary Colts Junior Football Association with a cheque for $97,000. These funds are used to support expenses such as field rentals, officiating, uniforms, player equipment and practice equipment.

DINOS In 2018, the Stampeders Foundation donated $40,000 to the University of Calgary Dinos football club; this contribution assists the Dinos with the operating costs of running a premier post-secondary football program.

The Calgary Dinos are consistently one of the nation’s highest ranked teams in the Canada West division of Canadian Interuniversity

CFL FLAGThe CFL partnered with NFL Canada to host the 2nd annual flag football tournament at McMahon Stadium. A round robin flag football competition with the winning team receiving an all-expense paid trip (courtesy of the CFL & NFL Canada) to Edmonton during Grey Cup week to participate in the CFL & NFL Canada Championship. Teams were comprised of 10 kids, boys and girls, between the ages of 10–11.

CALGARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT The Stampeders Foundation donated $49,000 to the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD)to help launch the intramural flag football program. This donation helped the CCSD provide a flag football kit to 48 Junior High schools around the city and allowed over 2000 kids to participate in flag football for free.

CALGARY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALLAnnually the Stampeders Foundation supports high school football programming by donating $25,000 to assist with operational costs and fees for medical personnel. The Stampeders Foundation supports varsity coaches with quality game film and assistance from the team’s equipment supervisor and coaching staff. This funding supports approximately 40 high school junior and senior football teams throughout the city of Calgary.

STAMPS BASKETBALLFor over two decades, the Stampeders have been visiting school gymnasiums in and around Calgary, giving youngsters the chance to go head-to-head with professional athletes.

TELUS STAMP OF A CHAMPRepresentatives from the Stampeders visit numerous schools throughout the city to educate students in digital citizenship, cyberbullying and online safety.

STAN SCHWARTZ AWARDSThe Stan Schwartz – Heart of a Champion Award, is presented annually to three Calgary high school football seniors. The recipients are recognized for their determination, pride, perseverance, dedication, leadership and integrity through their pursuit of excellence on the field, in the classroom in the and community. Each student received a $500 bursary.

JOHN FORZANI ENDOWMENT FUNDThe Stampeders Foundation donated $100,000 to the John Forzani Memorial Athletic Awards Endowment, which supports awards for students that are members of the Dinos football team.

HARRY HOOD SCHOLARSHIPThe Calgary Stampeder Football Club is proud to sponsor the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association and Calgary Booster Club – Harry Hood Scholarship, presented annually to a grade 12 football player from all three senior football

KIDSPORT A long standing partnership created to alleviate financial hardship for kids and families who cannot otherwise afford the cost of football registration fees. In 2018, the Stampeders Foundation donated $25,000, which helped 164 kids get involved in minor football.

JR. STAMPS CAMP Jr. Stamps Camp is a unique event where kids in Central and Southern Alberta get the opportunity to learn what is takes to become a Calgary Stampeder. Jr. Stamps Camp hosted at McMahon Stadium included over 300 kids between the ages of 7–13. This event gave kids the opportunity to get engaged in football by running through a series of drills on the field, while interacting with Stampeders rookies and coaches. This event helps raise funds for minor football and awareness for KidSport.

health + wellnessMILITARY FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE & SUPPORT OUR TROOPSThe Stampeders Foundation partnered with the Military Family Resource Centre and Support Our Troops for the Labour Day Classic. In addition to being honoured as the charity of the game, the Foundation also donated $5000.

CUPS The 26th annual CUPS Kickoff Breakfast was hosted at the Hyatt Regency Calgary on Friday May 11, 2018. This event was attended by various Calgary Stampeder players, coaches, and alumni. Since it’s inception, the CUPS Kickoff Breakfast has raised over $1.3 million in support of integrated services for vulnerable children and families in Calgary.

PINKPOWER The Stampeders Foundation along with Mayfair Diagnostics partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society for the annual PinkPower game. Since its inception PinkPower has raised over $100,000.

CROHN’S AND COLITIS CANADA ROB MAVER - The Stamps’ punter invites several teammates to assist at his annual flag football game at McMahon Stadium to raise funds and awareness about inflammatory bowel disease.

EVERY YARD COUNTS This program, presented by Shane Homes, includes regular visits from players and Outriders to the Alberta Children’s Hospital as well as post-game locker room tours for hospital patients.

PUROLATOR TACKLE HUNGER - CALGARY FOOD BANK DEREK DENNIS - Fans are encouraged every year to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to the Purolator Tackle Hunger game and drop them off to the Purolator and Calgary Food Bank volunteers stationed at the stadium gates.

COREY MACE’S TURKEY DRIVE Turkeys and hams are collected every December by defensive line coach Corey Mace to be distributed to Calgarians unable to provide a holiday meal for their families.

MACE’S FACES COREY MACE - Through this program, 15 clients from Enviros (a Calgary-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of family life in Alberta)are the special guests of Mace at every Stampeders home game.

BROWN BAGGING FOR CALGARY’S KIDS RENE PAREDES - Players visit the organization’s downtown kitchen each September to prepare lunches for local students without meals.

MAKE-A-WISH® Kids are invited to watch a practice, get a locker-room tour and receive autographs following a practice in August.

HOSPICE CALGARY RYAN SCEVIOUR - Highlighting the program is the annual Hike for Hospice which supports individuals and families dealing with a life-threatening illness or death.

CANADIAN BLOOD SERVICES CHARLIE POWER - Players and Outriders make blood donations throughout the off-season to help save the lives of those in need of a crucial blood transfusion.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS Members of the Stamps regularly attend Special Olympics practices, post-game meet-and-greets after home games and the annual Breakfast with Champions.

ALBERTA COUNCIL OF WOMEN’S SHELTERS – Leading Change All players, as well as coaches and staff, participate in a training seminar from ACWS to better understand and combat domestic violence in our society.

CALGARY STAMPEDERS PLAYERS COMMITTED TO THE COMMUNITYThe Calgary Stampeders aim to develop and implement impactful and high profile community relations programs while establishing relationships with school, youth sports, minor football and other charitable foundations. ATB CLASSIC CHARITY WALKThe Stampeders Foundation partnered with ATB Financial for the ATB Financial Classic Charity Walk at Country Hills Golf Club. Participants were able to join Stampeders players and coaches to walk the course on the final day of the tournament. $17,520 was donated to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.

STAMPEDERS AMBASSADORS CHARITY POKER TOURNAMENT The 4th annual Stampeders Ambassadors Charity Poker Tournament was hosted at the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino, raising $70,000 for the Stampeders Foundation. There were 28 celebrities at this year’s tournament, which gave sponsors and participants a great opportunity to engage with Stampeders players, alumni, coaches, and management.
