Event: Speaker Session on ‘Ways to become a successful Entrepreneur’

BloomBox, E-Cell KJSCE conducted an interactive session in association with Chatur Ideas on 'Ways to

become a successful entrepreneur'. Mr. Devesh Chawla, founder of Chatur Ideas delivered the speaker

session and this session was conducted for people who aspire to be an entrepreneur. As the session was

interactive, students asked various intriguing questions to Mr. Devesh. He cleared queries from the

audience and explained all the important aspects that should be considered to start any entrepreneurial

venture. Right from coming up with an idea to actually implementing it, from developing a prototype to

making a workable business model, he discussed it all. The audience was very lively with a keen interest

in Entrepreneurship. He took a case study of Mr. Jignesh Shah sharing some of the aspects of his life. He

also mentioned about the book entitled 'The Target' written by Shantanu Guja Ray which was based on

Mr. Jignesh's life story.

Event: Panel Session on Entrepreneurship - The Long March of an Entrepreneur

A panel session entitled "Entrepreneurship - The Long March of an Entrepreneur" was organized to

know more about the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the growth stage of their company. The

proficient panelists for the session were Dr. Dhaval Shah (Co-Founder, Pharmeasy), Mr. Tushar Saxena

(Co-Founder and CTO, Flyrobe), Mr. Gaurang Shetty (Chief Innovation Catalyst, riidl), Mr. Puru Gupta

(Co-Founder and CEO, True Elements) & Mr. Nisarg Bavishi (Leads Operations and Client Solutions at

vPhrase Analytics Solution Pvt. Ltd.). The moderator for the panel session was Mrs. Hetal Mundra,

(Founder, BloomBox and Community Architect, riidl). We had a crowd of 145 students who attended

this session.

Event: B-Plan Workshop

An interactive session “B-Plan Workshop” was conducted in association with RedBull Basement

University and Pathfinder (Entrepreneurship Cell, KJ SIMSR). The orators for the session were Mr.

Romil Shah (Business Analyst and Headstarter) and Mr. Abhishek Barari (Head of Operations and

Finance, MyCuteOffice). In this session students came to innovate, collaborate, and drive change on

campus through DIY-based technological solutions. Concept of Lean Canvas was learned with practical

example. The three ways of Entrepreneurs was also explained by the orators.

Event: Blockchain Technology Seminar

Department of Information Technology and BloomBox, E-Cell KJSCE had organized an exclusive

seminar on Blockchain Technology which was open to students of all years and was delivered by Mr.

Vineet Parekh (Co-founder, tradescrypt.com) and Mr. Nishant Mitra (Developer, Xinfin). The seminar

was an interactive session which covered the topics like Elementary knowledge of Blockchain

Technology, Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency and few applications of Blockchain Technology such as

decentralized transactions and networking.

Event: Hack-IoT

BloomBox in association with riidl conducted Hack-IoT (30 hours Hackathon based on Internet

of Things). The motive to conduct the hackathon was to introduce students to the social problems in the

world and how they can help to resolve these issues with the prime use of technology with their technical

skills and convert their solution into a business model. There were three speaker sessions conducted

before the hackathon, to acquaint the participants with the knowledge of IoT, Business Model, and

Hands-On workshop on IoT . The speakers were Mr. Neil Savant (CEO & Founder, NOUS Home

Automation), Mr. Irfan Siddavatam (Assistant Professor, Information Technology Department of

KJSCE) and Mr. Gaurang Shetty (Chief Innovation Catalyst, riidl). The team “Raspberrians 4.0” was

declared the winner.

Event: Panel Session on Blockchain Technology

A panel session on ‘Blockchain: The Future of Money, Governance and Law’ was organized to cover

Blockchain Technology advertising implications to potential regulation to security concerns, its

applications in the start-up world and its pitfall as well. The panel session was open for all. In the panel

we had Mr. Saurabh Ambwani (Blockchain Head, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd.), Mr. Ritesh Kakkad

(Co-founder, XinFin), Mr. Amol Dethe (Editor, FinBizness) & Mr. Prasanna Lohar (Head Innovation &

Architecture, DCB Bank Ltd.). The moderator for the panel session was Ms. Nehha Wadhwa, Founder

(The Pink Table).

Event: Global Blockchain Hackathon

Department of Information Technology and BloomBox, Entrepreneurship Cell KJSCE organized 24

hours Hackathon based on Blockchain Technology which witnessed participants from all over India. The

motive to conduct the hackathon was to introduce students to the technology of Blockchain and how it

can be implemented to solve real world problems. The judging panel for the Hackathon consisted of Mr.

Rohit Kilam (CIO/CTO, Aditya Birla Finance Ltd), Mr. Prasham Rambhia (Assistant Vice President,

Nomura), Mr. Irfan Siddavatam (Assistant Professor, Information Technology Department of KJSCE).

3rd India witnesses 500 cr+ funds for CSR activities,

these funds are enough to solve some major

socio- economic problems in our country. Apart

from that, there are over 20 lac organisations

working towards eradicating these problems, but

they lack the monetary and non-monetary

resources. Hence, there is no transparency, no

trust among donors, no proper flow of the funds

towards the primary cause and its efficiency is

stagnant.

Event: Speaker Session on ‘Women in Entrepreneurship’

BloomBox, in association with Wopreneur had organized a speaker session on ‘Women in

Entrepreneurship’ which was conducted by Neha Chatterjee (Founder of Wopreneur) who is currently

driving a community of 6000+ women entrepreneurs. She shared her inspirational life journey with the

audience. The limitations faced by women start-ups and why entrepreneurship is necessary for women

were discussed with the students during the session.

Event: Chefpreneur ’19

In association with KJSCE Symphony, we conducted our flagship culinary event called Chefpreneur

which was held in two rounds - Elimination Round (Round 1) and Final Round (Round 2). There was a

panel of popular food bloggers as judges for the Elimination round. The final round was during the last

day of KJSCE Symphony, the Annual Cultural Festival of K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering. Chef

Meghna Kamdar, Ms. Rachna Desai and Chef Geeta Shridhar were invited as judges for the final round

of Chefpreneur. The motive of this event was to acquaint the students with sales and marketing skills.

Report of event/ activity

Event: Ennovate ’19

BloomBox, Entrepreneurship-Cell KJSCE conducted Ennovate '19 a Techno - Business event with the

tagline ‘Make your work know it's worth’ giving all the technology enthusiasts a platform to showcase

their business ideas. Participants were asked to build a prototype of website/ web application

demonstrating the use of any technology and provide innovative solutions for real-world problems

through their prototype. Along with the prototype, the teams were also asked to provide a business plan

for their prototype. They were free to choose any problem statement of their choice. The event was

organized in two rounds - Elimination Round (Round 1) and Final Round (Round 2) both held on the

same day. Total 18 teams participated in the competition from colleges all over Mumbai with major

participation from K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering.
