ANNUAL REPORT - ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-18
Moot Court Society
The moot court society of our college was formed on 7th September 2017 with the
selection moot court undertaken by the Moot Court In-charge Associate Professor C.J. F
Prasanna Kumar ably assisted by the other members namely Shruti Nadkarni and Souvik
Mukherjee.
The team comprising of Guruprasad Naik, Leon Almeida and Savia D’ Costa, represented
the college for mediation competition organized by the KELSA, Kerala in December 2017
whereby they secured the second position. These were the students of the first year B.A.
LL.B and LL.B degree programme respectively.
Our students namely Astrid Fernandes, Shalom Sardinha and Luvleen Kaur participated in
the XVIIIth Adv.K.B.Kayasthan State level Moot Court Competition held at the N.S. Soti Law
College, Sangli.
The team consisting of Ramchandra Kamat, Trailokyanath Kerkar and Melbon Furtado
participated in the Late Adv. D.T. Jaibhave Memorial National Moot Trial and Judgment
writing competition held in February 2018.
Our students namely Adriana Fernandes, Ajay Borkar and Sharol Rebello participated in
the 3rd National Level Moot Court Competition from the 3rd and 4th March 2018 at (Smt)
K.G. Shah Law School in Mumbai.
The team comprising of Sanjyot S. Kamat, Omkar Bhave and Swethan Velip participated in
the Late Kusumtai Chavan Memorial 5th National Moot court Competition held at the
Narayanrao Law College in Nandeed, Maharashtra in February 2018.
The two day National level inter-collegiate fest held at the Jayantilal H. Patel Law College at
Mumbai, under the head “ ASTRAA”was a special and memorable one for the team selected
by the College as three students namely Krupa Naik, Guruprasad Naik (brother-sister duo)
along with Savia D;Costa brought laurels to our institution by emerging victorious in Case
Probe and the Moot Court Competition respectively.
Two of our students namely, Sandhya Samant and Shalom Sardinha participated in the
Justice P.B Sawant 5th National Moot Court Competition organized by the Shankarrao
Chavan Law College, Pune in February 2018.
The team consisting of Akhila Salelkar, Akshata Rane and Elaine Menezes participated in
the Late Shree Hashu Advani Memorial National Moot Court Competition organized by the
Vivekanand Educational Society’s College of Law in Mumbai.
Lex Infinitum, an annual battle of the brains on Mediation and Client Counselling attracting
National and International teams was organized by the V.M. Salgaoncar College of Law,
Miramar in January 2018 wherein our team comprising of Adriana Fernandes, Ajay Borkar
and Scarlett Dias secured the 5th position. Special recognition was given to this team.
The second half of the academic year saw a great start wherein three of our talents
comprising of Marieta D’ Costa, Mehnaz Baig and Archana Naik represented the Institution
at the Late Adv. Aruppa Joshi memorial state level moot court competition organized by
the S.B Keer Law College, Ratnagiri and secured the 1st place in this competition winning
the following awards:
(a) Best Mooter1 – Mehnaz Baig
(b) Best Mooter 2 - Marieta D’ Costa
(c) Best Researcher – Archana Naik
The team also won the special recognition award for the overall best performance.
The team comprising of the same students represented our Institution at the Victor Dantas
Law College, Kudal and secured the 3rd place in the said competition with our student
Archana Naik winning the individual prize of the best researcher as well.
ADR SOCIETY
1. FORMATION OF ADR SOCIETY 2017-18
The members ofADR society for the academic year 2017-18 were selected on the basis of Negotiation competition. The selection took place in two rounds. The first round of negotiation competition was held on 15th July 2017 from 10.30 am to 2.30 am in the college auditorium. 48 students divided in 24 teams from Second year to fifth year B.A.LL.B. and second year L.L.B. degree participated in this round.
The second selection round was conducted for the students of F.Y.B.A.LL.B. and F.Y.LL.B. Degree on 22nd July 2017 from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm in the smart class. 34 students divided in 17 teams participated in this round.
Both the rounds were judged by Mr. C.J.F. Prasanna Kumar, Associate professor and In charge of ADR and Moot Court Society and Ms. Shruti Nadkarni, Asst. Professor and Member of ADR and Moot Court Society.
Out of total no. of 82 students, 40 were selected as members of the society.
2. CELEBRATION OF INDIAN MEDIAITON WEEK 11TH -17TH SEPTEMBER 2017
The ADR Society of G.R. Kare College of Law observed Indian Mediation Week held from
11th to 17th September.
Indian Mediation week is a pan-India mediation awareness initiative, organized with the
support of Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India and Supreme Court Mediation
and Conciliation Project Committee from 11th to 17th September 2017 to create
awareness among citizens about mediation as a effective alternative dispute resolution
(ADR) system.
In this connection the ADR society of the college conducted training sessions in Mediation
for the members of the ADR society.
The first training session was conducted on 14th September 2017 by Adv. E.O. Mendes who
highlighted the key aspects of negotiation and mediation as effective and more flexible
means of dispute resolution.
The second session was conducted on 16th September 2017 by Adv. Ivo D’ Costa. This
session was aimed at bringing out the importance of Mediation in Practical Life. It helped
students to develop a better understanding of the mediation process.
A poster competition was also organised on 13th September 2017 in the college auditorium
on the topic ‘Importance of mediation in dispute resolution’. It was participated by
students from G.R. Kare College of Law as well as students from Vidya Vikas Academy who
took keen interest in understanding the topic of Mediation and depicted the same in their
work.
In this competition, the first prize was secured by a team of Mr. Trailokyanath Kerkar and
Mr. Melban Furtado. and the Second prize was secured by a team of Ms. Switzy Braganza
And Ms. Rajeshwari Rasiakar both from G.R.Kare College of law, Margao. The competition
was judged by Adv. E.O.Mendes And Mr. Babaji Sawant.
The students of G.R. Kare College also put up a skit showing the actual process of a
mediation session and portraying a scenario in which mediation was an effective means of
resolving an age old dispute. The said skit was presented before students of Vidya Vikas
Academy Higher secondary School to create awareness about mediation.
Mediation training workshop:
ADR society organized 6 day Mediation training workshop for the students of the college from 7th March to 12th March 2018.The said work shop was conducted by Ms. Muriel Fernandes, Asst. Prof. and accreditated Mediator.
Participation in competitions:
1. The members of ADR society Ms.Savia D’Costa, Mr. Guruprasad Naik and Mr. Leon Almeida participated in 7th All India ADR Competition for the KELSA Ever Rolling
Trophy organised by Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram on 15th & 16th December 2017. The team was declared as second runners up in the competition. Mr. Leon Almeida was awarded best Male councillor award.
2. The members of society Ms. Adriana Fernandes, Ms. Scarlet Dias and Mr. Ajay Borkar participated in Lex Infinitum , International Mediation Competition organized by V.M.Salgaocar college of Law, Miramar from 10th to 13th Jan 2018.
LITERARY SOCIETY
The literary society offers a competing platform for the knowledge-hungry students. It
promises to cultivate a passion for quizzing, Debating, creative writing,
literature, Elocution, etc among the students. The primary goals of the Literary Society are
arranging and organizing literary events for its members and for the students of G. R. Kare
college of Law.
Essay Competition
The Literary Society of the college organised an essay competition titled ‘Global Terrorism’
on 17th February 2018 to showcase their writing skills and to give them the liberty to
express their views on the topic according to their own perspective.
A total of 22 students participated. The judging was done by committee comprising of Ms.
Alison Almeida, Assistant Professor in English from Government College of Commerce
Borda-Margao and Mr. Dinesh Patel, Assistant Professor in G. R. Kare College of Law
Margao. Both judges read all entries carefully and ranked them independently.
Mr. Shalom Sardhina student of second year degree won the first prize. Ms. Astride
Fernandes from First year BALLB and Ms. Akshata Rane from second year BALLB won
second and third prize respectively.
EVENTS IN ASSOCIATION OF STUDENT COUNCIL
The literary society organized several major events in association with Student Council
during fun week from 19th December 2017 to 22nd December 2017. List of events are as

CHILD RIGHTS CELL
G.R.Kare College of Law established Child Rights Cell for creating awareness about child
rights to understand and study various problems faced by children.
Power point presentation Competition
The Child Rights Cell of the college organised a Power point presentation
Competition for the students of the college on 1st February 2018 to commemorate National
Girl Child Day celebrated every year on 24th January 2018.The theme for the competition
was ‘Do not kill a girl in the womb when she might bring country to bloom’.
The winners of the said competition were as follows:
First place: Ms. Astrid Fernandes
Second place: Ms. Sharol Rebello & Mr. Shalom Sardinha
Third place: Ms. Luvleen Saini
The said competition was judged by Ms. Goretti Simoes, Asst. Prof., Mr. Anand Salve,
Librarian and Mr. Souvik Mukherjee, Asst. Prof.
Awareness programme on Rights of child
The Child Rights Cell of G. R. Kare College of Law, Margao organised an awareness
programme on Rights of Child on 6th February 2018, to commemorate the National Girl
Child day. The Chief guest for this programme was Ms. Auda Viegas, President of Bailancho
Ekvott. She highlighted on different rights of children and urged the students to take active
part in protection of children in State of Goa. On this occasion the winners and participants
of Power point presentation competition, organised by the cell were awarded certificates of
merit. Dr. Saba Da Silva, Principal of the College welcomed the gathering .The vote of
thanks was proposed by Ms. Shruti Nadkarni, Asst. Professor and In Charge of Child Rights
Cell. Ms. Siddhi Parodkar, Asst. Professor compeered the programme.
WOMEN’S CELL
Organised a ‘Brain Storming session on women and law’ by Dr. Sushila Sawant Mendes
Pre-Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC-PNDT) by Pallavi Mulgaonkar
MEDICAL LAW CLUB
Ms. Faye Pinto, Asst. Professor, Carmel College for Women, Nuvem, Goa.
Criminology being an essential subject in the field of law where we study the various
theories of crimes from a legal perspective, Ms. Pinto highlighted the psychology behind the
commission of crimes. She explained the various parts of the brains which affect an
individual’s thinking, reasoning and thought process; and how any injury to these parts can
affect the cognitive functions, leading to criminal behaviour. In addition, she spoke about
how certain biological and environmental factors can greatly influence an individual,
pushing him/her towards the dark world of crimes. She also discussed a number of case
histories with the students.
A total number of 45 students attended the same, being members of the said club and
students of Criminology, Penology & Victimology.
There was an interactive session between the resource person and the students whereby
she answered various questions from the students.
Medical Law Club in collaboration with Victor Hospital:
Dr. Jose Filipe Alvares (M.D, D.M, D.N.B); Consultant, Victor Hospital, Malbhat, Margao, Goa.
The alarming rise in deaths due to liver cancer or liver rupture in India and specifically in
Goa, where liver diseases is considered to be the fifth death killer after heart-attacks, aids,
etc. it is the need of the hour to educate the young and old about the preventive measure to
avoid this deadly diseases. Dr. Alvares in furtherance with this agenda spoke with our
students whereby he highlighted the various causes and symptoms of the diseases. He
emphasized that with the discipline and control of our diets and a check on our lifestyles,
we can prevent this diseases. He also suggested that every individual should take a dose for
Hepatitis B in lieu of preventing said diseases.
A total number of 63 students attended the same, being members of the said club and
students of 1st, 2nd & 3rd year LLB Degree Course.
There was an interactive session between the resource person and the students whereby
he answered various questions from the students and also shed light with medical facts on
certain myths.
ENVIRONMENTAL LAW CLUB:
Mr. Rupesh Shinkre, entrepreneur, businessman, social worker & a member of GAC.
Goa Against Coal (GAC), a union, set up with a sole purpose & objective to create awareness
amongst Goans of the negative impact the Coal mining industry and nationalization of
rivers will have on the environment & the health of the people of Goa. In consonance with
this agenda Mr. Shinkre, highlighted various grievous issues the coal industry is going to
cause not only to the environment but also to human health, speculating that the next
generation could be born with certain incurable birth defects, thus, threatening the very
existence of a healthy environment. He interacted with the students of our college and
encouraged them to take a stand for the fight against coal.

1. 6/7/2017 : Talk on “Say No To Drugs”
Volunteers/students attended a talk delivered by Mr. Jeetendra Ranjan, Superintendant
of Narcotic Control Bureau, at a programme organised by the VVM in association with
the ANTI – NARCOTIC CELL on 6th of July 2017 on the topic “SAY NO TO DRUGS” in the
college auditorium.
2. 24/07/2017 : Orientation Programme
Orientation programme for NSS unit of G.R. Kare College of Law, was conducted on 24th
of July 2017. The NSS programme officer of the College Asst. Prof. Sonali Naik, informed
the students about the service scheme of the NSS, its objectives, its mission and also
about the other campaigns like “Swachha Bharat”, “Beti Bachao” etc. She emphasised on
the moto of the NSS “NOT ME BUT YOU.” She added that the voluntary service must be
done not only for the national benefit but also for the overall development of the
student. She also instructed the students to maintain a diary and make a report of the
activities undertaken by them for the academic year 2017-2018. The students were also
instructed to get the diary signed regularly after the programmes.
3. 25/07/2017 : Inaugural
Flaging off (inaugural) ceremony of the NSS unit of G.R. Kare College of Law was held in
the college auditorium on the 25th of July 2017. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr.
Dattaprasad Borkar, retired Chief Engineer of PWD and an active trekker and marathon
participant.
4. 15/8/2017 : Independence Day
National day was celebrated on the 15th of August 2017 in the college campus.
5. 21/09/2017 : Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana
On the 21st of September 2017 the “RASHTRIYA VAYOSHREE YOJANA CAMP” for senior
citizen was organised at the E.S.I Hospital South Goa. The assessment camp was
organized for providing free aids for Senior Citizens.
Asst. Prof. Sonia Shirodkar accompanied the NSS volunteers to the camp. As soon as
they reached the E.S.I Hospital, they escorted the Senior Citizens to the Hospital.
The registration procedure began at 9 a.m. The volunteers helped the Senior Citizens to
fill the registration form, to attach the correct documents to the form and to submit the
same at the registration counter.
Once the registration was done the volunteers took the Senior Citizens to the respective
medical departments for the purpose of checkup.
The volunteers assisted the Senior Citizens wherever required and the session ended at
1 p.m.
6. 9/09/2017: Talk on “Career Opportunities in the Defence Force”
On 9th September 2017, Army Personnel, Major Aditya Kumar 3MTR, addressed the
students on the topic “Indian Army: Laws and Opportunities”.
7. 16/09/2017: International Coastal Clean-up Day
International Coastal Cleanup Day was observed by the NSS Unit of G.R. Kare College of Law, Margao-Goa under the campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’
The NSS Unit undertook ‘Beach Cleanliness Campaign’ at Benaulim in association with the Cana Benaulim Village Panchayat lead by its Panch Ms. Royla Fernandes. The volunteers of the NSS unit along with faculty members, Ms. Sonali Naik, NSS Programme Officer, Ms. Ruby Luis and Ms. Sonia Shirodkar assembled at Maria Hall at 8.15 a.m. and walked the stretch to the Benaulim beach collecting trash and garbage along roadside. Pamphlets and leaflets with messages on importance of cleanliness were distributed and posters on garbage disposal and segregation were also displayed by student volunteers. Around 66 student volunteers participated. They were divided into two groups, one met at the starting point and collected garbage along the roadside leading to the beach while the other was engaged in the Campaign along the beach sides. Garbage of all kind, i.e. plastic tins, polythene bags, bottles, paper, tetrapacks, diapers, plastic-glasses etc. were found and collected in bags and sent to garbage disposal units.
8. 19/09/17: Poster/Slogan Competition
Volunteers and students participated at a poster/slogan competition organised by the
NSS Unit on the broad theme ‘Civic Duties’, held in the college premises. Poster,
Placards were made on the themes ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’, ‘Save the Girl Child’, ‘Follow
Traffic Rules’, Waste Disposal and Segregation’, ‘Spread Greenery’, ‘Service to Nation:
Join the Defence Force’.
9. 20/09/17: Legal Awareness Programme
The NSS Volunteers of the T.Y.LL.B Degree conducted a legal awareness programme
from the 20th of September to the 24th of September in Margao, explaining to the shop
keepers the aim and object of the Shop and Establishment Act.
In the village of Dharmapur the NSS Volunteers created awareness of different welfare
schemes such as Yashaswini Scheme, Ladli Laxmi Scheme and Griha Adhar Scheme,
they also explained to the women the procedure to be followed to avail the benefit of
these Schemes.
10. 23/09/17: Awareness Rally
NSS Unit of G.R.Kare College Of Law, Margao-Goa in commemoration of the NSS Day,
organised a peaceful awareness rally on Saturday, 23rd of September 2017 from 8:30
am to 10:30 am on the institutional NSS theme of the year “HEALTHY YOUTH FOR A
HEALTHY SOCIETY”. Around 200 students/volunteers attended/participated in the
rally which was divided into 3groups, each group representing a cause.
The first group spread the message of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’. They shouted slogans of
‘Green Goa, Clean Goa’, ‘Garbage Disposal Reuse, Refuse, Recycle’,’ Importance of
Cleanliness, Hygiene’ etc.
The second group of participants created/spread the message on ‘Save the Girl Child.’
Slogans against sex selection/determination, illegal abortion, female foeticide were
said.
The third group of participants were committed to the cause of “Road Safety”. ‘Follow
Traffic Rules’, ‘Wear Helmets’, ‘Avoid rash and negligent driving/riding’, ‘speed thrills
but kills’, were the slogans used.
The rally was flagged off by the Principal, Dr. Saba V. M. Da Silva from the college which
thereafter proceeded to Margao town and back.
11. Paper Bag Making:
As a part of NSS duty the students /volunteers are also engaged in paper bags/cloth bag
making and distributed the same in the market areas in Margao. This activity is done for
the promotion of ANTI PLASTIC CAMPAIGN to promote ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’
12. 9/12/1017: Poster Competition
The Unit organised a Poster Competition on the theme “Right to Life; Womb to Tomb”
in commemoration and observance of the Human Rights Day celebrated on the 10th of
December.
13. 11/12/1017: Awareness Rally
An Awareness Rally was held in commemoration of the Human Rights Day celebrated
on the 10th of December on the theme “Righjt To Life”. Posters made by Students and
Volunteers were carried and displayed on the route taken and slogans with messages of
non-violence and tolerance were shouted. Volunteers, Students and Faculty
participated in large numbers
14. 12/01/2018: National Youth Week Celebrations:
The National Youth week was celebrated on the 12th January 2018 in association with
the Taluka Legal Services Authority, Salcete- Margao Goa. With the hope awakening
Nationalism and spreading the message of peace and of creating awareness of the
spread, preventions and cures of dreaded diseases an Essay Competition on two themes
(1.) ”Communal Harmony and National Integration” and (2) “HIV/AIDS; Issues,
Concerns and Challenges” was held from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon. The first three
winners were awarded prizes.
It was followed by a talk by Dr. Edward D’ Mello, Sr. Surgeon, Hospicio Hospital, Margao
Goa on HIV and AIDS awareness.
15. 28/01/2018: Visit to an Old Age Home:
Around 35 Students of the Third Year LLB Degree organised a visit to an old age home,
Divine Providence at Cana Benaulim. A cultural event of music, singing, dance so also
acrobatic performances and magic tricks was conducted by the volunteers in
association with the Goa Entertainment Society. A meal was sponsored by the
volunteers and home provisions and other articles of utility were also donated.
16. 03/03/2018: State-Level Students Seminar
The Unit organised an in-house One Day State-Level Students Seminar in association of
the Taluka Legal Services Authority, Salcete- Margao Goa, on the broad theme,
“Sustainanble Development; Concerns and Challanges”. 12 students presented papers
on 12 diffenrent topics choosen by them. The presentations were moderated by a
Moderator and the papers were judged by 2 Judges. The first three winners were
awarded prizes.
17. Library Work:
As a part of NSS activity, the students /volunteers also undertook library work during
the II term of the academic year. This included the cleaning of the library, bar coding,
labelling, arranging and sorting of the books.
N.S.S. UNIT of VVM’s GOVIND RAMNATH KARE COLLEGE OF LAW. MARGAO-GOA in association with TALUKA LEGAL SERVICES COMMITTEE, SALCETE, organised a One Day State-Level Students’ Seminar on the theme ‘Sustainable Development: Concerns and Challenges’ on Saturday, the 3rd March 2018 in the Ganesh Daivadnya Auditorium of the institution. The Inauguration of the Seminar took place at 10.00 am at the hands of the Chief Guest for the
occasion, Dr. Manoj Borkar, Associate Professor, Carmel College of Arts, Science & Commerce
for Women. Dr. Saba Da Silva, the Principal of the institution formally welcomed and
meticulously introduced the guest to the participants and the audience. Ms. Sonali Naik,
Coordinator of the programme read out the importance, the scheme and the rules of the
seminar. The Judges for the Paper Presentations, Dr. C.P. Hiremath, Associate Professor,
Department of Geography, Shree Mallikarjun College of Arts and Science, Dalem-Canacona
and Ms. Ujjwala More, Teacher Grade I, R. M. Salgaocar Higher Secondary , Tansor-Comba
were also introduced to the gathering by the Coordinator . The Chief Guest addressed the
gathering present , which was then followed by the paper presentations from 10.30 am
onwards.

Dr. Manoj Borkar, also played a dual role as Moderator for each session .
The paper presenters were allotted a time limit of 10minutes each, which was followed by a
question round by judges and/or moderator. The presenters were evaluated on the basis of a
criterion which included Content and research ( 20 marks), Organisation and Direction of
thought (10 marks) and articulation and delivery (10 marks) and response to questions (10
marks) .

VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College Of Law, had organized a session on
“Criminal law and Women “.The talk was organized for the members of criminal
law club. the resource person was Prof David Sweeney ,founder of AAOI(Abused
Angels of India).The resource person spoke on safeguarding the girl child and
empowering the women of India(IPC guidelines).it was an interactive session
and very
informative.
LUSOPHONE CENTRE FOR CULTURAL AND LEGAL STUDIES
1. The LUSOPHONE CENTRE FOR CULTURAL AND LEGAL STUDIES was inaugurated
on the 11 January 2018 at the hands of Dr. Francisco Duarte Azavedo, Consul
General of Portugal in Goa. The function was also graced by Dr. Dario Moura
Vicente, Professor of the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, Portugal and
President of the Institute of Judicial Cooperation. The President of the centre, Dr.
Aurobindo Da Gama Xavier and Members of the Management were also in
attendance.
2. The Centre’s first activity, the introduction of the Portuguese Language Course with
Legal Inputs commenced on 20th January 2018. It is a 16 weeks Certificate Course
and the Resource Person is Mr. Bosco Afonso who is the language teacher. It is
attended by 30 student some of whom are advocates and alulmni of the institution.
3. The Centre celebrate the 4th Lusophone Film Festival, Goa 2018 on the 15th and 16th
February 2018. In view of the same two films ‘Bem Amando’ and ‘Garappa’ were
screened for the viewing pleasure of our students.
A small activity which involved the written response of the students after the
viewing of the 1st movies was sought, the responses were evaluated and prizes
were distributed on the following day at the hands of the President, Dr. Aurobindo
Da Gama Xavier.
4. An interactive session by Brazilian artist Marcella Marvel and Edward Michael
Chance was arranged for on the 3rd march 2018. The Resource persons shared with
the audience their mission and their work related to the evolution and development
of the Brazilian and Portuguese language and the impact of
geographical/cultural/other factors on its current usage.

Level Workshop on “Copyrights and Libraries : Issues and Concerns’ on 16th
August 2017 wherein 39 Librarians of Colleges and Higher Secondary
Schools of Goa have participated.
Library Department organised ‘Know your library’ an in-house book
exhibition on 23rd January 2018 wherein books were displayed on various
subjects.
Library Department organised an essay competition on 21st December 2017.
Celebration of Constitution Day on 27th November 2017 (Monday) By Library Department of G.R. Kare College of Law
Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, was celebrated in India on 27th
November 2017, instead of 26th November, to commemorate the adoption of Constitution
of India on 26th November 1949 and to instill a sense of patriotism among the people of our
country. All the Students, teaching & non-teaching staff with Principal gathered in the
library reading room in order to read out the preamble of the Constitution. The event
commenced at 10:00 AM with Principal Dr. Saba Da Silva briefing about the significance of
the day and of the Constitution. In his short speech he described important terminologies
of the preamble which is the basic spirit of the Constitution and importance of
Fundamental duties. Everyone present at the occasion have taken an oath of allegiance to
the Republic of India in the form of taking National Pledge and the programme concluded
with thanks and tea serving.

Our college students had participated in 15 events organised by Goa University & One
student represented Goa state for National yoga championship. Another student Deepak
Fernandes won the Gold medal at all Goa open weightlifting championship organised by
Goa weightlifting association.
Following students won the medals at the inter collegiate Championship Powerlifting
championship.

championship.

29TH July 2017: Students’ Council Inaugral and Freshers’ Party
The inauguration of the Students’ Council for the academic year 2017 – 2018 saw the oath taking
by the sixteen nominated student members in the presence of Honourable Shri Dattaprasad
Lawande, Advocate General of the state of Goa. The agenda for the activities proposed to be
undertaken by the Students’ Council during its term was also put forth by General Secretary, Mr.
Mavlon Afonso. Following which a get together was organised for the newly admitted students
to Kare College of Law from both, the 1ST Year B.A., LLB and 1ST Year LLB Degree courses.
5TH September 2017: Teachers’ Day
Teachers’ Day was celebrated by the Students’ Council which was attended by all teaching staff
who participated in various activities and witnessed performances by several students of the
college.
23RD September 2017: N.S.S. Rally
The Students’ Council in association with the N.S.S. Unit of G.R. Kare College of Law
organised a rally around the main Margao city area which was made possible by the participation
of students in large numbers who raised their voices in order to spread legal awareness about the
pressing socio-legal issues of today.
19TH – 22ND December 2017: Fun Week
The Students’ Council in association with the Literary Society of G.R. Kare College of Law
organised various competitions, namely, quiz, debate, treasure hunt, essay writing, fashion show,
elocution, dance, Christmas card making,Voice of Kare and food stalls, conducted over a period
of four days. The competitions were conducted on an inter-class platform with students from all
classes participating in large numbers and the 5TH Year B.A., LLB class being declared the
overall winners.
