PRESIDENT'S REPORT This has been quite a different year with the arrival of COVID19. We have been fortunate here in Queensland as we have had very little time when we were unable to play. It certainly kept us all 'sane' during the initial weeks of the 'lockdown' when we were only allowed to play in 2's. It was good to see medley competitions being played at most clubs with women well represented. Hopefully it will initiate a change of attitude at those clubs where there has been resistance to change with more involvement of women on days other than ladies days. Personally I have missed the pennant games and the opportunity to travel to other clubs for Open and Invitation days. Hopefully we will be able to resume our normal calendar next year. As you know the Council made the decision to cancel the Senior Women's Championships, Matchplay Championship and District Championships due to the uncertainty of the situation with COVID19. We have decided to reschedule these events at the same venues next year, namely Kingaroy for the Senior Women's Championships and Matchplay Championship and Headland for the District Championships.

• Meg Nunn was played at Southport in September and our team performed very well finishing runners up to Central Queensland and Central Highlands. Congratulations to the team for their valiant efforts.

• Matchplay Championship – this was a new initiative that was due to be held over 2 days with 36 holes being played each day at Kingaroy. Unfortunately this was cancelled but has been rescheduled at the same venue next year. It is to be hoped that our lower handicappers will enter this event.

• Ladies Let's Golf – although run by Golf Queensland we did allocate funds to assist clubs wishing to participate so that that could apply for assistance to help with the costs of advertising etc.

• Junior Development Squad – unfortunately we were unable to hold these sessions this year but hope to resume them next year.

• Finances – our finances look healthier than last year thanks to the diligence and savings overseen by our treasurer.

I would like to thank the Council for their interest and assistance during the past 12 months. It is to be hoped that next year will see a resumption of most if not all our golf activities. I know you will have missed the interaction and camaraderie we share at inter club and interstate competitions. It has been a difficult few months which we are hoping will improve next year. Treasurer’s Report

as at 30 June, 2020

Annual General Meeting

4 September 2020

The Audited accounts for the year ending 30 June 2020 are attached for your consideration and ratification.

Please note that the Auditor has written off the amount ($21,983.34) that had been invested with Country

Credits (in liquidation) as it is highly unlikely that the SCBDWG will receive a dividend. This has been

reported by the auditor as a Provision for Doubtful Debts in the Balance Sheet and as a write off in Other

Expenses in the Profit and Loss.

The SCBDWG is in a good financial position mainly because of the cancellation of a number of events

during the past year due to the Covid pandemic. Some events that were to be held in the latter part of 2020

have also been cancelled and we do not know what will happen in the next year or years. The cancellation

of events has been reflected in the budget for the next financial year.

The SCBDGW Everyday Business Account has a balance of $36,682.14 (with some of this amount now

to be invested in a Term Deposit) and a Websaver Account of $24,561.20. The Senior Womens’ balance

of $5,759.89 is included in this total as the Senior Womens is now included with the SCBDWG.

All affiliation fees have been collected in the last year by SCBDWG committee. This was because the

committee was able to take control by invoicing the clubs directly and thus following up with any

outstanding amounts. The majority of clubs paid by the due date or soon after. There was one club in

particular that was very slow in paying, not realising that affiliation fees have to be paid each year. For

this financial year, the total collected was $26,301.00. At $11 per lady member, this means that the district

had 2,391 lady members.

JUNIOR REPORT 2019-2020 The last four months of 2019 saw a very busy time for all our Junior girls. We had the third and last of our Junior Development Squad mornings, the Katherine Kirk Classic, Sarah Jane Kenyon Challenge, Noosa Classic & Scholarships and the Greg Norman Junior Masters. A short summer break before competitions started again in 2020 and then everything came to a sudden stop for the next six months. Our Junior Development Program had to be cancelled but hopefully, all things going well, we may be able to restart next year. With Club competitions being played, our Junior girls have continued to hone their skills and recent relaxing of restrictions have enabled other competitions to be held. Zoe Powell and Rebecca O’Neill who have been wonderful representatives for our District, are no longer Juniors, having reached the age of 18 years in July, soon to be followed by Cassie Porter in September and Dhiya Rampersad in October. We wish them all the very best for the future. Sarah Jane Kenyon Challenge 27th September at Beerwah Golf Club The annual match play tournament of 8 junior girls representing SCBDWG and Brisbane & District. This tournament was a challenge in more ways than one, with our District calling on four of our Junior Squad members to make up the numbers. The final result being Brisbane & District 5 – Sunshine Coast Burnett District 3. Noosa Junior Classic 10th November at Noosa Golf Club Eight of our 9 Junior Development Squad participated in the Noosa Classic and all 9 received their Certificates. Four of the girls had their 18hole handicaps for the Classic with one of them taking out the Gross - B grade. Greg Norman Junior Masters 9th-12th December at Palmer Colonial & Palmer Gold Coast Golf Clubs Several of our District girls qualified for this event, with Sophie Thomson Nett winner 13 and under, Justice Bosio Gross winner 15 & under and Cassie Porter Gross winner 17 & under. District Junior Championship 16th August Mt Coolum Golf Club The Katherine Kirk trophy will be heading south to Surfers Paradise Golf Club with Haruhi Nakatani the Open Winner. NORTH COAST ZONE LADIES GOLF ASSOCIATION

2020 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

2020 has certainly been a year of challenges and changes due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Zone Committee Day was held in February at Gympie Golf Club. It was very successful and extremely well attended by the clubs in the Zone. The Gympie Women’s Committee is to be commended on their help and work prior and during the event. In late March the Zone Executive Committee decided to cancel both the Single Match Play and the Nett Pennant competitions. As time progressed and the pandemic situation had not improved it was also decided to cancel all our Zone Championships – the Silver, Bronze and C Grade. Our next planned event is the Zone Foursomes Championship to be held on the 6th November at Bribie Island Golf Club. Lorna Gibson, the Zone Championship Manager is presently looking into the viability of holding this event. I would like to thank the Zone Executive Committee and all the clubs for your support during this difficult time. The Zone’s decision to cancel competitions has not been taken lightly, but the health of all the community is a priority. We look forward to your support in 2021. Sincerely,

Wendy O’Hare

DISTRICT DELEGATE TO GOLF QUEENSLAND Golf Queensland is now part of One Golf and at the meeting in December a power point presentation was given of the Strategic Plan. The key areas of the Participation Driver include My Golf activities which have been a success in more remote areas. The Ladies Lets Golf has proved an effective and successful way of encouraging women to participate There is a strong emphasis on Vision 2025.

• where women and girls are inspired to participate, feel welcome and nurtured throughout and empowered to achieve their goals

• the goal is to transform the sport of golf into one that is highly engaging, accessible and fully inclusive for women and girls

In relation to women and girls in golf the Australian Human Rights Commission and Golf Australia have issued 'Guidelines for the promotion of equal opportunities'. There have been seminars around the state to ensure that all clubs are compliant with these guidelines. The New Rules of Golf took effect on 1 January and there have been workshops around the state to reinforce the changes for club officials. The latest meeting of Golf Queensland was an interesting number of power point presentations by members of the staff highlighting their priorities which cover the following: Clubs and Facilities Support Corporate Services Participation High Performance Golf Operations State Facility Plans It will be interesting to see the outcomes of some of the research through data collection which will hopefully assist clubs to provide a sustainable club and future facility needs. The Voting Rights has been raised again with a new model put forward in June 2019 which will be voted on in December as follows: Votes will be allocated amongst the districts as follows:

• A district with between 1 and 2,000 affiliated players shall receive 1vote(small sized districts) • A district with between 2,001 and 4,000 affiliated players shall receive 2 votes(medium sizes

districts) • A district with between 4,001 and 8,000 affiliated players shall receive 3 votes(large sized

districts) • A district with 8,001 or more affiliated players shall receive 4 votes (extra large districts)
