Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20

The Board of Trustees and staff are extremely grateful for your continued support which has led to another positive year of momentum. “Mount Carmel is a place of rest, renewal and recreation for people to experience Jesus.” The focus on this mission has continued to build enthusiasm across all aspects of the organization.

Accomplishments in 2016 that you as Proclaimers can be proud of include:• Balancing the budget• Refinancing chapel mortgage reducing interest rate by .5%• Exceeding SHINE campaign goal by $128,317• Paying down the mortgage to $999,892 (down from $1.4 million in 2012)• Receiving estate gifts totaling over $230,000 which were used for mission partners,

maintenance needs, debt reduction, savings, endowment and annual funds• Completing walk-in freezer and youth chapel renovation with the help of volunteers

and donations• Continuing local business sponsorships

Your support as Proclaimers fuels the engine. The staff, under Dan Baker’s leadership continues to mature. They are providing Christ-centered leadership, creative programming, first-class hospitality, and a spirit-filled environment where people can truly experience Jesus! The volunteers and summer staff are immensely important to this progress. Our thanks to each person who has given their time and energy.

All this being said, we can never get too comfortable. There are too many people in desperate need of the rest and spiritual renewal Mount Carmel is known for. Much of the year we are not running at capacity which means there is “room in the inn” for new people to experience Jesus in real and powerful ways. To this end, in 2017 we are working with a consulting firm to clarify our vision for the future and develop a business plan.

This coming year will be my (Mark) last year as your board chair. It has been the board’s goal all along to eliminate the mortgage. I would like to see that happen before my term ends! Let’s work together in prayer and commitment to put this debt behind us, so that we can truly look forward to building a bright future for Mount Carmel Ministries. There is no doubt your investment is having an eternal impact.
