EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

ANNUAL REPORT 2016-17 The Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise Development Institute Hubli & Br.

MSME-DI Gulbarga has a jurisdiction covering thirteen districts of North Karnataka. Except Two districts, Belgaum & Hubli- Dharwad, all the other eleven districts are declared as backward districts as per Dr. Nanjundappa Report set up by Government of Karnataka.

MSME-DI, Hubli is conducting regular skill development training, entrepreneurship development, management development, motivation programmes besides organizing workshops and seminars on current topics & vendor development programmes etc. The Institute also implementing NMCP and MSME Schemes.

Achievements of MSME-DI :: Hubli (2016-17 )

EDP Programmes ESDPs conducted during 2016-17 - 09 Nos. EDPs conducted during 2016-17 - 03 Nos. IMCs conducted during 2016-17 - 10 Nos. Vendor Development Programmes One NVDP conducted during 2016-17 on 03 – 04 December 2016 at Hubli 87 SSI units benefited. One NVDP conducted during 2016-17 on 25 – 26 February 2017 at Gulbarga 67 SSI units benefited. State Vendor Development Programmes Five SVDPs conducted during 2016-17 conducted at Hubli, Belgaum, Kaiga, Gadag & Gulbarga. Product Certification One awareness programme conducted on Product Certification on 05.01.2017 at Gadag. One awareness programme conducted on Product Certification on 23.02.2017 at Tarihal, Hubli. Energy Efficiency Technique One awareness programme conducted on Energy Efficiency Technique on 4.2.2017 at Dharwad. QMS/QTT A programme on QMS/QTT conducted at Belgaum on 30.06.2016.

I.P.R One IPR programme was conducted at Dharwad on 26.10.2016. One IPR programme was conducted at Bidar on 10.08.2016. Entrepreneurial & Management Development of MSEs through Incubators Four seminars on Support for Entrepreneurial & Management Development of MSEs were conducted at Gulbarga, Mudhol, Belgaum & Dharwad. ISO Reimbursement Eight units were benefited under ISO Reimbursement scheme Rs. 4,09,206 has been disbursed accordingly. Cluster Activities Four clusters viz., Foundry Cluster Belgaum, Auto Cluster at Hubli, Readymade Garments Cluster at Hubli, Food Cluster at Gulbarga are functioning. Sir M.Vishveshwarya Heat Treatment & Engineering Cluster at Hubli and Shri. Gurudev Resin Industrial Processing & Preservation Cluster at Bijapur and Auto Cluster, Bidar, Common Facility Centres are approved. During the year steering committee has approved for preparation of 02 Diagnostic survey Reports (DSR’s) viz., Jaggery Cluster, Mudhol and Raisin Processing Cluster, Athani During the year 02 projects for DPR submitted viz., Goldsmith Jewellery Cluster, Belgaum and Spices Cluster, Gadag. During the year Print Cluster, Hubli has submitted the DPR which has been approved by the Steering Committee. DSR is under preparation. Two projects of DPR are forwarded and CFC under implementation viz.,, Raisin Processing Cluster, Athani, Dt: Belgaum and UTOPIA Cashew Cluster, Kumta, Dt: Uttara Kannada. MSME Schemes Delivered lectures at various places covering north Karnataka under the jurisdiction of MSME-DI, Hubli. During the current year our endeavor was to organize as many “out reach” programmes as possible in the rural areas. With due modesty we state that 75% of our programmes have been conducted in rural areas for SC, ST, Minority & women entrepreneurs and self help groups, are the main beneficiaries. MSME-DI, Hubli imparted practical skill oriented and knowledge based training under the skill development programme on various subjects. The training programme has been organized in remote areas to enable unemployed youth to start self employment venture with limited resources.

With due motivation and recommendation of MSME-DI Hubli, BVB College of Engineering has established business incubator. At the instance of MSME-DI, the B.V.B. College of Engineering & Technology Hubli is actively participating in the programme by opting as active member in the SPV. They have also offered to provide knowledge support for the center of excellence and to eventually build a healthy industry-institution relationship.
