In an effort to add value to education NET and UPSC preparation courses were organised by
the Department of Chemistry and talks were organised by the Department of Statistics.
Remedial classes were organised by several departments for academically weaker students.
This initiative not only helped to increase the interaction between students and teachers but
also helped in understanding the difficulties and challenges that our students face in coping
with academics as well as life. However, there is a need
to organise mentoring mechanism at department level in
an organised manner. Students are also guided to make
use of library facilities. We have seen a significant
improvement in the results in the second and third year
because of this approach. A separate room is made
available for group study by Campus Ministry and
special English classes were arranged for weaker
students.
Co / extra-curricular activities

Expenditure on various categories (2015-16)(in Lakhs)
17
Our Laboratory
expenditure:
Over 8 lakhs
have been
invested in 5
Science
programmes.
That works out
to be Rs 743 per
student per year
for the
laboratory
expenditure! A
large part of this
expenditure comes from management funding. Therefore, we urge all the faculty and students
not to waste chemicals and use them judiciously. We are sure that each student of this
College makes full use of this facility.
College is also in the process of developing two new laboratories near new SAH and a
research lab for Physics. We also plan to cover the present SAH with glass windows so that
you can have a clean and neat place to use in the coming months.
College has invested in procuring an ERP to assist the administration. We urge one and all to
make use of ERP to make administration smooth, fast and efficient. Our aspirations are high
as we have WiFi facility to move into moodle based education system in the coming
academic year. Two smart boards were also added to facilitate teaching learning, recently.

visited the campus. Students from Marquette University visited the campus to interact with
students of Vocational courses. A team of Spanish academicians visited the campus and
interacted with our faculty to work out staff and students exchange programmes.
Future Plans
We wish to set up centralised lab facility for research and developments, procure equipments
for basic research, and focus on publishing in journals with good impact factor, systematise
mentoring programmes for both staff and students. We wish to introduce Moodle based
education and implement ERP in Toto. We wish to move slowly towards online evaluation
system. We also are in the process of establishing a computer library with the generous
support from Mr Piyushbhai Desai. We also wish to initiate more courses and create an
environment for more students to take advantage of the Xavier education module. Over a
period we wish to set up a gymnasium for our students and renovate each classroom with
more comfortable furniture and visual aids. We also wish to renovate administrative office
with furniture and make it more students friendly. We wish to make the campus green, self
sustaining, and contributing to carbon neutrality.
All that we have achieved wouldn’t have been possible without the selfless commitment of
each one of you. Thank you for sharing the dream of this institute. Each of you can give a pat
on your shoulder for the commendable contribution made towards actualizing the dream of
Xavier’s to shine as one of the best educational institutions in India. Xavier’s belong to you;
and you make Xavier’s what it is today.
We write our plans with pencil and give God the pen. Let us thank the almighty for walking
with us and invoke his blessing for our future plans.
