A Word From Our Founder Despite our modest resources, Adoption-Share has accomplished so much in just our second real year of operation. If you were to tell me, Adoption-Share would be ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, smack dab, front and center in the presence of a global community of 100 million people, I would have said you were crazy. Yet here we are with so many stories! Stories of hopeful parents who have expanded their families through the powers of online networking; stories of expectant mothers who have considered an option that before seemed too inaccessible, and so many stories from licensed agencies that benefited from streamlined referrals and communications with expectant and adoptive parents. Yet our successes in accomplishing a more efficient and transparent adoption process was just the tip of the ice berg. During the 2012 Presidential election, we were called upon to give voice to an option that has far been removed from the choices a woman has to consider when confronted with an unintended pregnancy. Our interview with Anderson Cooper, gave witness to a conundrum few have articulated: adoption is a bipartisan solution to the abortion crisis and systemic solution to the orphan crisis. This platform sent us all over the United States from DC to Denver, Colorado to educate our nation’s leaders, doctors, lawyers, and counselors.

Our goal in spreading this message is two fold. We want women to make an informed decision when deciding what to do with her unintended pregnancy. We want to raise up awareness on both sides of the political isle to help push our cause farther by setting standards that would make adoption even more friendly to both those who seek to expand their family and those who seek to find a family to care for their child. We wish to extend a sincere and heart felt thanks to our agency and attorney partners across the United States! May God Bless you abundantly! We look forward to even greater things this 2013-2014 season. Stay tuned!

Sincerely,

Thea

Stories from This Year

The Ellis Family:When we started out on our adoption journey, we hoped for the best but prepared for the worst. So you can imagine our excitement when we were matched with a birthmother from California in just a few months of networking on Adoption-Share. Our baby girl is now 12 months old and we are so grateful to Adoption-Share for connecting us with the licensed agency that made our dreams come true!

The Jackson Family:My husband and I were both deployed shortly after our home study was completed. I was so afraid our adoption process would be prolonged by our military service. After making the transition to Afghanistan I thought I could at least try to see what my options were. I logged onto Adoption-Share and read a post from a licensed agency that was looking for a family to match with a birthmother that was 7 months pregnant. I submitted our information to the agency and we were chosen by the birthparents. 40 days after returning home from my deployment, I was holding Patrick in my arms at the hospital!

Stories from This Year (continued) The Martinez Family:

A lot can happen in 6 weeks! Thanks to Adoption-Share, we held our baby boy 9 months from when we were home study approved. Adoption-Share helped us connect with a licensed agency that needed to find a family for a baby due 6 weeks from when they posted. We submitted our profile, and our birthmother chose us!
