The mission of Easter Seals New Jersey is to enable
individuals with disabilities or special needs, and their
families, to live, learn, work and play in their
communities with equality, dignity and independence.
A leading non-profit provider of comprehensive services
for individuals with developmental disabilities including
autism, physical disabilities, mental illness and other special
needs, our services have been geared toward helping
individuals remove obstacles along their path toward
independence and full community-integration since 1948.

1,356 people with mental illness living in an Easter Seals group home or in the community
were able to learn medication management, and work toward achieving independence and
stability in their community; 97%
were able to avoid involuntary psychiatric hospitalization
2,597 people with developmental disabilities were able to remain in their community, maximize
their choices, and direct their own care through Easter Seals Fiscal Intermediary Services
556 people with developmental disabilities were provided opportunities for community
integration, cognitive learning and daily living skills enhancement
915 campers of all ages and abilities were provided with fun, meaningful and accessible
recreation in a safe, supportive environment
774 people who were homeless or at risk of homelessness received education on mental health
and substance abuse, and help in obtaining stable living arrangements; 337 of those individuals
received shelter or housing, and 91%
were discharged into stable housing
641 people with varying developmental and physical disabilities were provided with employment
466 low income citizens age 55 and over received job training and employment to help them
enter or re-enter the workforce
250 people participated in the Be Well & Thrive!™ health and wellness education program
