Why you should attend

The Course is designed for mid-career diplomats and military officers from the Middle East and North Africa and from GCSP Foundation Council member states. Candidates from outside the region are those likely to be assigned to analysis and security policy functions at a bilateral or multilateral level in the MENA region.

Course focus

The course offers the opportunity to enhance skills and knowledge through a curriculum under the mentorship of international experts.

This course, which has been running since 2007, is funded by the Swiss Government and is conducted in cooperation with the Partnership for Peace.

The course will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule.

During the week, the course participants will be meeting with Swiss parliamentarians in Bern.

Course design

In addition to interactive lectures and presentations, the participants will be exposed directly to practitioners engaged in various fields of international, regional and human security who will share their concrete experience with them. Each individual or panel presentation is followed by a discussion with the participants.
