I have helped the BRVA on a few small projects
and am an electrician in the neighborhood. I
can commit the time and Special Projects
interest me the most next to land use
committee. I would envision bringing small
business/ restaurants/ shops/ coffee shops up
along the canal to make it more of a
"destination."

I have lived in Indianapolis since 2009 and in the Village since 2013. I am
a resident member of the BRVA and have served on the Board as
Treasurer since May 2015. My wife and I spend most of our free time in
the Village, whether it be hanging out with our awesome neighbors or
taking advantage of the proximity to the Monon Trail and other fantastic
bars/restaurants. We have since welcomed our first child into the family,
and spend even more time enjoying the walkability of the neighborhood.
Seeing Broad Ripple continue to thrive as a destination for its residents,
as well as others within the Indianapolis area, is very important to me.
Being involved with the BRVA has made me realize the impact that the
organization has on its businesses and residents, and I would like the
opportunity to continue to serve the neighborhood going forward.

I am a long time public servant at the state, national
and local level. Most of my work has centered on
education policy and trying to improve the lives of
young people. I now focus more broadly on state
talent development to improve the economic health
of states. I am single and my kids are grown. I now
have an abundance of time to engage and work to
make my community better. I can't imagine a better
venue than service on the Village Association.

I have been a home owner in Broad Ripple for four years now, and I am
looking to establish deep roots here and raise a family in this community.
I firmly believe I can use my past experiences to help contribute to this
community's continued development and further maximize our
neighborhood's potential. I am willing to put in my own time, above and
beyond what is expected, in order to enhance this neighborhood and
improve the quality of life of the people living here. Of all the
neighborhoods in Indianapolis, I chose Broad Ripple as the place where I
want to live because I believe this neighborhood has the most to offer,
and I look forward to being a part of the BRVA and helping to further
strengthen my community and the people in it.

My fiancé and I moved to Broad Ripple last year. Since that time, we
have fallen in love with this area so much that we feel like we should give
back in any way we can. But to do so, the members of the community
should know more about what I can offer as a Director Candidate. I
currently work as an accountant for a health training corporation. I have
obtained my Master of Science in Accounting as well as a Juris
Doctorate. I am a man of faith, and use it in every aspect of my life. In my
opinion, a community is working best when its citizens are offering their
best. Because of this, I want to throw my hat into the ring in order to make
sure I abide by my own policy. I have great attention to detail, and am
always willing to go beyond what is merely required to not only get a job
done, but do it as best as it could be done.

I've lived in Indianapolis since 1999 and in the Broad Ripple area since
2008. I am a resident and business member of the BRVA, and an owner
of a small law firm in Broad Ripple at Evanston and Broad Ripple Ave and
have worked here for 12 years. Almost all of my work and play occurs in
Broad Ripple so I am very sensitive to the area and have a keen interest
in helping the neighborhood improve by attracting more people and high
quality and diverse business and housing. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my
year as a director; my fellow directors are a really great group of people
that has accomplished much and I hope to continue this momentum
going forward.

After working and living in the Pike area for almost 10 years, I decided to come
back to the neighborhood I grew up in and purchase a home in SOBRO in 2010. I
love my neighbor. I have convinced so many friends to purchase homes in this
area that I've seriously considered getting my Realtors license. This neighborhood
is a part of me, from playing on the tall rocket slides that use to be at Broad
Ripple Park to spending time at all the local eateries. I'm a full time event planner
that does event planning, marketing and promotions for various local businesses.
I'm also the co-owner of Deckademics DJ School at 6108 College Avenue. We
teach kids and adults the art of deejaying through traditional analog methods
(vinyl records and turntables) as well as the newest computer software. We are
the only business / school of this type in the state. I have a 6 year old daughter
that attends St. Richards.

My husband and I first moved to Broad Ripple in 2011 where we lived for two years.
We then moved away to Ann Arbor, Michigan but always had intentions of moving
back and did so in March 2015. Since then we have been active BRVA members
and volunteers. I am currently a member of the Membership Committee and I also
was a part of the planning committee for the Broad Ripple Carnival and will be next
year as well! In college I began volunteering very actively and started my career in
the nonprofit world, where I worked for 7 years. I worked for Easter Seals
Crossroads and the local chapter for Make A Wish Foundation. I now work for a
corporate company where I am a recruiter, but I truly enjoy giving back to my
community. I am a very passionate, devoted person so I feel confident I would be a
great contributor and follow through with commitments I make to the organization
and community. My husband and I are great advocates of Broad Ripple and all it has
to offer, so I would be honored to be a part of the governing body that helps to keep
Broad Ripple thriving!
