If you think our past raffles have been wonderful opportunities, wait until you hear what we’re raffling in 2009! This year we have prize packages that will appeal to everyone.
There are three packages to choose from. For our world travelers, we are offering a $5000 line of credit at a travel agency. Golfers will enjoy a California golf/wine country package for 2 that includes a 2 night stay at Vintners Inn and a tour of a vineyard. It also includes a 2 night stay and 2 rounds of golf at Pebble Beach. If a shopping spree is more to your taste, the chamber is also offering a $5000 gift card “good” at ANY retail merchant.
This is a “must do” raffle with something for everyone. Tickets are only $20.00 each so buyers of multiple tickets have a better chance to win. Please tell your friends, family, and business associates, and visit us at the chamber for your winning ticket.
The winning ticket will be drawn at the conclusion of our Golf Tourna-ment on Friday, October 9...AND, keep in mind, you need not be pre-sent to win!
9th ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT Attention all golfers…mark your calendars!
This year we will once again hold a tournament at Battleground Golf Course, and the date has been set for Friday, October 9th. If you’re planning to play, please don’t delay registering. As in past years, we have two starting times and our morning slots are filling quickly. Just like former years, our format will be Four-Player Florida Scramble. AND, we are planning to award the winners the same great trophies.
We welcome all volunteers. There is always plenty to do and we always have a great time. Please check your availability and give us a call. We will be happy to visit with you regarding the areas where assistance is needed. If you’re unable to volun-teer, but interested in promoting your business, we are also offering sponsorships. There are a wide range of options at various prices to choose from. For additional information please contact the chamber staff by calling 281-479-1559. They will be happy to provide you further details.
We are also holding another raffle and think you’ll like the changes. The big difference is the winning ticket holder will have a choice of three great prize packages. Please come by the chamber office to purchase your tickets.
TRI-CHAMBER LUNCHEON
Deer Park Chamber South Belt - Ellington Chamber Pasadena Chamber
This September three southeast area chamber’s of commerce are joining forces to offer their members a spectacular network-ing opportunity in the form of a Tri-Chamber Luncheon.
The Tri-Chamber Luncheon is the joint effort of Deer Park Chamber of Commerce, Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and the South Belt - Ellington Chamber of Commerce. The icing on the cake will be our guest speaker. Governor Rick Perry will be on hand to address our members and guests.
The event will take place at the Hilton Houston Hobby Airport located at 8181 Airport Blvd. in Houston on September 17, 2009 beginning at 11:30 a.m. Individual reservations will be available for $40.00, tables (seating 10) for $400.00 and ‘Lone Star Sponsorships’ (with premium table placement and greater recognition) at $750.00. Are you as tired of summer heat as I am? August is bound to fly by and hopefully it will cool down a few degrees by our Chamber’s Golf Tournament. That’s right – October 9th is the day! The commit-tee is hard at work. They need your help, so call the chamber if you’re available. We still have op-portunities for volunteers, sponsorships, teams, door prizes, or whatever else you can do to help make this the best tournament yet. We have the reputation as one of the fastest growing tourna-ments around. One thing I do know for cer-tain...ours is the most fun!
We recently held our semi-annual New Member Breakfast to recognize the new Chamber members and offer them an orientation to our organization. Over the last 6 months, we have gained over 43 new members and we had many of them attend the Breakfast. With the new additions, the current membership of the Chamber is over 580. It was refreshing to listen to our newest members intro-duce themselves to their peers. Not only are we adding a very diverse group, ranging from a local church to hotels to accountant firms, but we have a great group of excited, dynamic business leaders that will continue to help this area grow. It was extremely gratifying to hear their excitement at joining the Deer Park Chamber. My commitment, along with the Board of Directors and staff, is that we continue to make the Deer Park Chamber a success so that a year from now, that new mem-ber is happy that he made that choice. New mem-bers are the life-blood of our organization and are valued and appreciated.
Isn’t it difficult to fathom that the new school term will begin in a matter of days? AND speaking of school, don’t forget our upcoming Salute to Educa-tion Luncheon and Trade Fair scheduled to take place at the Deer Park High School South Campus on Tuesday, August 18th. Salute to Education is a wonderful event. A wide variety of vendors will be showcasing their businesses that day, so be sure to stop by their booths before the luncheon begins and visit with each one.
Congratulations to our July Beautification Award recipient, Central Baptist Church. Their new land-scaping, and beautiful new facility have certainly spiffed up Center Street.

SALUTE TO EDUCATION Deer Park High School

If you’ve participated in Salute to Education in past years, you know what a wonderful event it is. “Salute” provides our members the opportunity to showcase their businesses, while giving our dis-trict’s newly hired teachers a first-rate introduction to our community and the generosity of our busi-ness members.
All vendor booths have been reserved, but can-celations do occur from time to time. If you are interested in showcasing your business, please give the chamber a call. We would be happy to place your name on the “waiting list”.
If you have not made your luncheon reservations, and would like to join us, please contact the chamber office. It is during the luncheon portion of the event that we honor outstanding educators from Deer Park I.S.D., San Jacinto College, and Texas Chiropractic College.
