Auxiliary Announcements

Post 91 Commander JD Geiser [email protected]

Auxiliary President Kathy McMartin [email protected]

Hello Ladies I really do not know where to start. It has been a great 2 years as president of Auxiliary Unit 91. I want to thank EVERY ONE of the ladies of Unit 91 for all the work you have done to make this Unit such a success. Last year at convention we brought home many awards, including the Beiri Award. This could not have been done without all your help. We hope to bring many awards home again this year. I can't begin to list names of those that have helped in fear of forgetting someone. I also want to thank Legion, Rider and SAL

members for their help and cooperation with Auxiliary programs. This will be the last newsletter you will receive from me as your Auxiliary President. Barbara White has been elected to be your Unit President for the 2014-2015 year. I will be your membership chairman for this upcoming year. I will be begging you to pay your dues early. Thank you to everyone for paying their dues to belong to such a wonderful organization. Unit 91 reached 104.11% in membership. The Unit's membership goal (set by Department) was 146, we now have 152 members.

Our new year began on May 1st. There are already plans for the new year. There is a beautiful gas grill on display at the Post. It will be raffled off on May 26th, Memorial Day, with the proceeds going to your Auxiliary programs. Tickets are $5 or 5/$20. These raffles are necessary to raise the funds for the programs that help our Veterans and our Community. The Post will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs and are asking that everyone bring a dish to pass. Let us all join together at the Valley of the Sun Cemetery at 9 A.M. for a beautiful ceremony then go

Dear Post 91 family,

The time has come for my last Commander’s Corner. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your Post Commander for the last two years. My term as Post 91 Commander has had its difficulties, but together we have overcome obstacles and have created a comfortable atmosphere where all are welcome.

The success of a leader depends upon the support and actions of those around him who share the same beliefs and ambition. The support I received from our fantastic American Legion Family is evident by

our success and recognition by the Department of Arizona and local communities.

Thank you to our Post 91 Family for your support. I want to say “Thank You” to my Executive Board for your camaraderie, diligence, and willingness to go above and beyond. I want to give a special thanks to Dave Ulm, Sr. for his commitment, knowledge, and friendship. I could not have done it without you!

Thank you to Kathy McMartin, Aaron Beauvais, and Terry Schroeder for your support as entity leaders. Your

communication and compassion for working together has contributed to all the achievements Post 91 has accomplished.

THANK YOU ALL! For God and Country JD Geiser Commander, Post 91 [email protected]

Greetings Post 91 During the past month the Legion Riders went on a charity ride for Shelly Sisneros, Post 138, whose husband Dade, ALR Vice President, recently passed away due to a motorcycle accident. We presented her with a check for $500. We recently we had the Awards Dinner at the Post and I gave awards to seven of our members that have done an outstanding job with the ALR and also for helping others. The recipients were, David Vilardo, David Ulm Sr., Ernie Ponicki, Steven Heaven, Bob Krumwiede, and Leo and Tina Gabyelski. LEAD

ON! This past weekend American Legion Riders from Arizona Post's 26, 34, 35, 39, 58 and 91 made our third Goodwill Ride to Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. We had a pizza party for the Wounded Warriors and sat down and visited with them. In addition to the party all the Riders gave them $9,792 to have more parties and anything else they need. They have certainly earned that and much more. God Bless our Wounded Warriors and all our military that are in harms way throughout the world.

This past month the ALR Post 91 donated 417 hours of their time, rode 1,195 miles and spent $362 of their personal money to help charitable causes. Terry Schroeder ALR 91 President [email protected]

This year is almost over. S.A.L. just had it's elections, your newly elected officers are Commander - Aaron Beauvais, Sr. Vice Commander - Frank Ramirez, Jr. Vice Commander - Steve Heaven. We just had Scooter Bobs homecoming party at the post which was a blast and went over really well. Queen of hearts is still going strong. As of the writing of this article the current jackpot is around $2,900. S.A.L. is starting up a Junior program. We are looking to get the Junior members more involved within the S.A.L. watch Facebook and the post announcements for more info. If you or you know a Junior member who would be interested please let myself or Frank know. Big Two Toyota located at 1250 S. Gilbert Rd. Chandler, Arizona has agreed to donate $100 to all vehicle purchases that

are referred from Post 91. Contact April Jacob the Internet director at 480-580-7067 and let her know that you were referred to Big Two Toyota by Post 91 and they will take care of the rest if a vehicle is purchased. This does not have to be from a member of Post 91, it could be someone from another post, family, friends or even neighbors. This is an easy way to make a donation to the post if you or someone you know is in the process of buying a new vehicle. Aaron Beauvais Squadron 91 Commander [email protected]
