This quarterly introduces the Sydney Child Health Program (SCHP) a change in title from the Diploma in Child Health / International Postgraduate Paediatric Certificate. This change is in line with the current higher education sector regulatory requirements in Australia.

We will continue to provide excellence in education, with a focus on best practice and the application of knowledge adapted to specific circumstances and locations, just as we have over the last 26 years. The name change will not affect the content and delivery of this program in any way.

The new name also follows the introduction of our new platform and anticipates the arrival of the Program’s first online discussion forum for daily live question and answer sessions with a paediatric expert on a variety of topics. More details to follow.

The Program will continue to have the same: content annually updated / reviewed online resources: including webinars; case journals program assessment components paediatric clinical experience requirement approach towards endorsement of CPD points through RACGP / ACRRM global relevance approach to program fees with affordability factor as a key consideration; reviewed annually. reputational advantage, continuing as a non-award, non AQF* (see next page) program employment advantage enhanced paediatric connections free alumni access lifelong on completion of brief annual survey support for our international cohort with tutorials from Paediatric experts in each country. The only differences will be: A name change to “Sydney Child Health Program” “Certificate of Completion” instead of the previous “Diploma” or “Certificate” Participants to directly communicate with the University of Sydney for assessment of theadvanced standing towards Master in Medicine (Paediatrics).

We look forward to continuing our partnership with you, united by our vision and ambition to save and protect children’s lives around the globe.

Kind Regards,

Please rest assured:

• You will continue to receive the same excellent content and support from our team at TheSydney Children’s Hospitals Network.• On successful completion of the program and its assessment, you will receive a Certificate ofcompletion of the Sydney Child Health Program.• The University of Sydney is continuing its endorsement and longstanding association withthis Program.

"Congratulations again to you and your team for the success in the International

Education Association of Australia award for Best Practice in International Education in

2017. It is a privilege for Hobsons/QS and myself to support the recognition of the

team, in a truly transformative TNE project. We are lucky to work with universities and

educators on a daily basis, but it is great to be reminded of the truly transformative

power of education, and how international education is a force for good globally – the

IPPC team has done an excellent job in impacting the health and well-being of

children globally, impacting the lives of many for the better across 25 countries.

Well done again."

Tutors – International Sites

Tutors are experienced Paediatric Doctors (and where appropriate, Nurses), appointed after approval, in each international location to provide specific additional information of relevance to the health of children and young people in each region, building on content from Sydney experts. This includes cultural issues, genetic differences, child protection laws, immunization schedules, the interpretation of common presentations, available resources, infectious disease protocols and sharing work-based learning experiences.

One Tutor is paid for one hour of face to face teaching at each site at their local hourly rate. There is a ratio of approximately one tutor per 10 participants.

It was indeed my pleasure to host the team and yourself earlier in the course of the year. The feedback from the medical students was

that they benefited tremendously from the lecture input that they received.

As a department we continue to benefit from the tireless efforts you are putting to see us

become better clinicians and overall improve the welfare of children in our respective

settings. I believe with the enhancements to learning introduced in 2017, the participants should find it easier to embrace and master

the concepts being taught."

Dr Martha Sarudzayi Chigova-Mahlanze, Zimbabwe

"This program has grown to become a very sorted after learning program by our young

and upcoming medical officers.Where there is limited access to internet and up to date medical literature materials and as

a practicing and teaching paediatrician I still learn new things through the lecturers and

tutorials with theparticipants. It has benefited the child health

services through knowledge transfer to doctors and nurses, and provides and

opportunity available and affordable to Health workers in Solomon Islands."

"I recently completed my final assessment for the program and wanted to take the opportunity to offer my

deepest gratitude for such an excellent program. I've been a student of various courses for over 25 years and I've found the program to be the best online/distance ed program I've undertaken. The range and experience of presenters has been fantastic. The presentations have

been interesting and inspiring. The assessment has been fair and balanced. The new platform makes presentations easy to navigate and personalise and the quiz questions

embedded in the talks help my motivation. I am particularly impressed that I will have ongoing access to such quality materials post-graduation. I will be a proud

alumnus.I'm very happy to recommend this course to my

colleagues (and often do) and I wish you the best for your ongoing success."
