If you are available to do weeding and/or trimming and can give just a half hour, please feel free to do so. The Preble Park Windows Task Group made a recommendation to Session after considering some professional advice from Coventry Glass in Appleton. The Session approved creating a new interior entry wall incorporating the stained glass insets (3 panels) on both sides of a new door. The estimated cost of the project is $5,500 and it will proceed when 80% of the funds have been raised. So far we have raised $2, 500. The Task Force believes that this option will have the most beautiful outcome and it honors the original setting of the glass at the Preble Park Church. If you would like to contribute to this project, please designate your gift for the Preble Windows. Our transition team is: Chairperson Kirke Ryder, Amy Wittman, Jane Bies and Wes Michael. Please pray for them as they work with Presbytery staff to plan next steps for pastoral leadership. Once again this summer, area churches are hosting a summer organ concert series. WELCOMING

GATHERING MUSIC “Gavotte” – Thomas Arne “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” – Robert A. Hobby “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” – Douglas E. Wagner WELCOME MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS PRELUDE “Surely the Presence” – setting by John Carter Jennifer Hanson and Robert Nickel, piano

LIGHTING OF THE CHRIST CANDLE Youth *CALL TO WORSHIP…………………………………………………….Youth Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. The Lord will speak peace to the faithful, to those who turn to God in their hearts. Surely salvation is at hand for those who fear the Lord, and God’s glory will dwell in our land. Let us worship God! *PRAYER OF THE DAY…….……………………………………………Youth Holy God, you are our faithful lover, our generous parent, our patient teacher, our constant friend. We live by the hope of your promises, seek to follow your way, and rely on the gift of your Spirit, by whose power we breathe, and move, and pray. Amen. *HYMN #39….……………….…..……………….."Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

CALL TO CONFESSION…………………………………………………...Youth PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) ………….………………………..Youth Ever-faithful, how often we turn away from you, yet you remain constant to us. We run from you, but you call us back. In our words and our deeds we dishonor you, yet you still profess your love for us. We cut ourselves off from you and from others, but you will not let us go. Forgive our faithless and fickle ways and increase our gratitude, that we might grow in faithfulness to you, for the sake of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION Youth WORDS OF ASSURANCE Youth *RESPONSE IN SONG #437 You are the Lord, giver of mercy! You are the Christ, giver of mercy! You are the Lord, giver of mercy! *THE PEACE Jesus said: “As the Lord has forgiven us, let us also forgive one another.” The peace of the Lord Jesus be with you. And also with you. We exchange signs of peace. (children remain in worship)

NOURISHING SPECIAL MUSIC “Lord of the Dance” – setting by John Carter Jennifer Hanson and Robert Nickel, piano

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION (unison…………………………………….Youth God of Wisdom, you promise to give your Spirit to those who ask. Overwhelm us with your Word, that we may know you more fully, love you more passionately, and follow you more closely; in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. PSALM 85: A RESPONSORIAL SETTING Refrain Verses 1-4 Refrain Verses 5-8 Refrain Verses 9-12 Refrain EPISTLE……………………Colossians 2: 6-15, The Message Translation, responsive My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving. Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that’s not the way of Christ. Everything of God gets expressed in him, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don’t need a telescope, a microphone, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. Entering into this fullness is not something you figure out or achieve. It’s not a matter of being circumcised or keeping a long list of laws. No, you’re already in – insiders – not through some secretive initiation rite, but rather through what Christ has already gone through for you, destroying the power of sin. If it’s an initiation ritual you’re after, you’ve already been through it by submitting to baptism. Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive – right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled out and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. GOSPEL………………………………………………...Luke 15:1-10, Luke 15:11-32, Luke 19:1-10

This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE THE LORD’S PRAYER, pg. 35 INVITATION TO THE OFFERING………………………………………Youth OFFERTORY MUSIC “There Is a Redeemer” – setting by John Carter Jennifer Hanson and Robert Nickel, piano

*RESPONSE #717 For the life that you have given, for the love in Christ made known, with these fruits of time and labor, with these gifts that are your own: here we offer, Lord, our praises; heart and mind and strength we bring; give us grace to love and serve you, living what we pray and sing.
