Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” was published for the first time.1970 – “NFL Monday Night Football” made its debut on TV. The Cleveland Browns beat the New York Jets by a score of 31-21.1981 – The U.S. Senate confirmed Sandra Day O’Connor to be the first female justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Girls Softball
The girls rolled over Prairie View yesterday and won 11-0! The entire team
put forth a fantastic effort! The Lady Patriots
are now 6-1 for the season.
Box Tops for Education
The PE department is collecting Box Tops
for Education. Please turn them in to your PE/Health teacher.

Taffy Apple SaleThe PTO is selling taffy apples from Cupid Candies. Orders are due Thursday, Sept. 27th and will be available for pick-up on Tuesday, Oct. 23rd from 4-6 pm in the
Commons. Apples are $3.

PTO Spirit WearOrders and payment for PTO Spirit Wear are due today! Forms were included in the Student Information Day packets and can be found online in the Virtual Backpack.
Student SupportStudent Support is held in the Media Center before school every day from 8:00 – 8:35 and after school Monday through Thursday from 3:10 - 4:05.
Please be sure to bring your work with you! You will need to sign in and stay
the entire time. If you are a bus rider, please remember to sign up for the
activity bus that day!

Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge
Last year Grissom Patriots saved 10,263 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills by using the
water bottle filling stations throughout the building. So far this year, we have saved 1,242bottles! Please remember to use these instead of plastic bottles!
