Citation preview
In keeping with the spirit of the recommendations of the Expert Committee to continuously
monitor the performance and improve the rigour of examinations, the University has been
progressively upgrading systems of student assessment, one of them being the introduction of
Descriptive-type questions at the term-end examinations. Given the scale of student
participation and variety of examinations including choice of the vernacular as a medium of
examination, the University is happy to announce the following format of examination,
commencing examinations to be held in April 2013. All students pursuing different programs
with SMU DE are hereby informed that descriptive questions, which are already a part of the
assessment of Arts & Humanities, will now feature in all the term-end examinations to be
conducted from April 2013. The pattern of question papers are presented hereunder along with
the existing structure of question papers for the information of students.
