media experiences and effects with teens. I liked that this news report not only gives examples

about how social media is changing teen friendships, but it also talks about its effect on intimacy

and relationships. According to a video on this site, teens spend about eleven hours a day on digi-

tal media, which is shocking. This information will help me back up a lot of points I have in my

paper. The site gives a lot of date and backs it up with help from neuroscientists, doctors, and

people in similar professions. They said anything we do repetitively rewires our brains, which is

also what Psychology Today said about porn. This site provides a lot of meaningful and intelli-

gent quotes about my topic, which will help me make my paper stronger. This site is a news arti-

cle, which is why it is reliable. It is not just a blog, it is a well written experimental study and

conclusion put on the news.

appears people date because they like each other, but they do not have intensions of a future to-

gether. Its a lot of in the moment shallow feelings, mostly based off of looks. A lot of people like

to fool around, but then as they get older they try and find someone not just based off of looks. In

the video one man was interviewed and said, “I am not going to marry her so what is the point in

putting 100%”. This is an example about how people are dating is becoming shallow and is for

different reasons then love. I believe these attitudes tie back to how our brains have been rewired

by social media and technology since we were born. This video points out how people are meet-

ing online and look differently in person. This shows how media is changing our self image and

making us more focused on looks. We edit photos to look good, but in reality we still have flaws,

but try to cover them up and look perfect like people in magazines. I like this video because it

interviews random teens about their personal experiences and opinions. I think information gath-

ered like this is really important. They are the ones being effected and it is beneficial to my paper

to write about what they think and feel. They where asked if they think social media has effected

relationships and the first thing someone said was, “Yeah, in a negative way”. Social media cre-

ates arguments and puts a lot of peer pressure on people, which makes them act certain ways

with each other thinking its how they are supposed to be. This video also helped me with infor-

mation for my other sources. Using sources like Psychology Today gave me a professional opin-

ion, and now I am getting a regular persons opinion which is great to have. This video really

gave me a lot of information and will definitely help me write a stronger paper.

This site focuses on adolescents because the teenage years are when the brain is being effected

the most. The brain isn't just being rewired and changing our views on relationships, the brain is

also being changed in many other ways. For example, teens, adults, and children are all being

effected from the media because our brains are being trained to multitask, which is making us

less focus on one subject. I found this book from the online category from the UNC Charlotte

library. To find this book I looked up social media, porn, teens, and dating. This book covers

most of these topics and throughly explains why and how they are being effected. Since the li-

brary is supplying this book I can assume it is a reliable source. The information given is very

helpful and well explained. They give a lot of good data and examples of changes in teens.

helpful. When it came to information about the porn industry and its effect on adolescents, this

site had the most information. Psychology Today had vast amount of unknown facts and exper-

iments used to explain non bias views about my my topic. It had a lot of details about the brain

and how it becomes desensitized from porn over time. This site helped me have a deeper under-

standing of how porn effects the minds of growing individuals. I learned a lot of things from this

site that I didn't know before. For example, “In today's digital world, most adolescents turn to

porn for answers-and pleasure--and when porn becomes an adolescent boy's primary mode of

sexual education, it can be harmful to his brain's sexual development”. this is a reliable source

and it gave me the most information from any site I used, which led to my strongest paragraph in

my paper. This site`s article does not just give information without being able to back it up with

scientific reasoning and explanations. It really puts it into perspective and shows the difference in

people who watch porn at an early age compared to those who start later on it life, or do not

watch it.
