Bio by David.
A life long love affair with fish started at age
eleven with a trio of guppies and a pair of
Aphyosemion australe. Over the years he
has raised killies, bettas, angels, gouramis,
cichlids, and many others. His current
interests are soft water ciclids, the different
catfishes, loaches and anything unusual. Even
with 80+ tanks there is just not enough
room. Currently the majority of his tanks
house catfish. He is a member of most of the
national organizations. He is a past
contributor to the AKA JAKA magazine, and
past editor of the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association 'Fish Talk' newsletter. He
has many popular videos of live foods and fish on youtube.com
(http://www.youtube.com/user/djrramsey ).
His talks are based around videos of fish behavior, especially courting,
spawning and raising fry. Many nights and weekends are spent with the camera
and camcorder in hand waiting for the magical fish moments. His other
passions are growing live foods and testing the different prepared foods on his
fish. His talks are designed to be both fun and informative. Now retired,
there still is not enough time for fish and gardening.

Meet NEOfish Speaker

Its time for another Neofish Anniversary Party. I hope everyone can make it this Friday. Please
remember dinner will start at 7:00pm with the speaker Dave Ramsey speaking at 8pm. Dinner will
be hot dogs, potato and macaroni salad. If members would like, you can bring an appetizer or
dessert. After David speaks we will be holding our Chinese raffle. This year there will be lots of
interesting fish including several L number pleco's. As we are supplying the food, I am asking
everyone to be on time. After the Chinese raffle, we will be holding our bowl show, bap and fish
auction.
I am sure that some of you may have heard, but in case you haven't, we are working to change how
we administer our auctions going forward. We are looking into using bar codes and scanners along
with an auction program that will mean less work for those working the auction and allow us to
reconcile and send out checks even faster than we do now. As we roll it out in the next couple of
meetings we will be asking for volunteers to try it out so we can get more help at the auctions.
I hope to see everyone on Friday night. This may be my last meeting until August as I will be having
spine surgery at the end of this month and I am not sure if I will be able to make the June
meeting. As for our auction this month, Dave will be bringing a number of fish that are hard to
find, so if your looking for that one item no one else has, this would be the meeting to attend.
Hope to see everyone on Friday night. It’s gonna be a lot of fun. Any questions, give me a call
or drop me an email.

The Northeast Ohio Fish Club (NEOfish) is an all species Fish
club in Northeast Ohio. We pride ourselves in being a progressive club offering all our members not only
the normal fish club programs, but others like individual e-mail addresses, club member websites, spawn-
ing contests, aquarium decorating contests workshops, road trips and more. Our goal is to make every
meeting exciting, educational and leaving you with the feeling that you can’t wait until the next meeting.
Look at our website and see if this club isn’t the club you have been looking for. If you already belong to a
club, that’s okay, think about making us your second club and come enjoy the fun.
Both www.neo-fish.org and www.neo-fish.com show the same website.
Memberships starting for 2018 are $15 for single and $20 for family. All speakers get a free annual mem-
bership.
The Password for the Members Only area of the website is neofish2013.
As always, the Northeast Ohio Fish Club (NEOfish)
holds monthly meetings in Independence, Ohio on the 3rd Friday of every month. Meetings are at:
Independence United Methodist Church
6615 Brecksville Road
Independence, OH 44131
There is no smoking on Church Grounds or littering of cigarette butts on nearby properties.
8:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. (Anniversary and Christmas Party starts at 7:00p.m.)
Everyone interested is invited to attend. NEOfish is an all species club, such as Betta, Guppies, Tetras,
Barbs, Cichlids etc.
The Board meets before the general meeting at 7:00p.m. at the church as well. Even though you’re not on
the board, your are still welcome to sit in on the meeting. You would not have a vote but you certainly
could share some input. Per our Constitution and By-Laws, this is also the appropriate time and place to
air any concerns about the club. It would be helpful to first contact a board member to discuss the issue
but if you feel that the whole board needs to hear it then feel free to attend.

Committee Announcements (cont.)
Auction Committee
We had another successful auction. About 900 items and the pricing seemed to be
pretty good overall. Fun Facts: 12 of the 13 highest grossing Sellers are from out of
state. 63% of gross sales came from out of state Sellers.
Due to the time to reconcile and get the money deposited, I send out checks to
sellers by how much were their gross sales. They were being sent out starting on the
Tuesday after the auction and were all sent out by Thursday.
