Annual Requalifi cation If you don’t meet the requirements to qualify as a Premier PaceSetter or a Premier Platinum PaceSetter, you will have an additional eight weeks to qualify as a Platinum PaceSetter or PaceSetter on an annual basis.
Any new Distributors you personally sponsor during the initial 8-week Premier qualifi cation window will still count toward your second 8-week qualifi cation period.
Annual requalifi cation period Except Premier Platinum PaceSetter, other PaceSetters can renew their PaceSetter statuses or enroll for a higher PaceSetter status each year within eight weeks from the anniversary of their enrollment date.
Beyond Premier If you are a Premier PaceSetter, you can become an annual Platinum PaceSetter by sponsoring two more Distributors¹ who collectively generate 800 SVP during the annual requalifi cation period. You will then remain an annual Platinum PaceSetter.
¹ The new Distributors should activate 1 or 3 Business Centres.

Recent research has shown that overweight individuals with low calcium and dairy consumption are at increased risk of developing metabolic syndrome. These fi ndings suggest that adequate calcium intake could create a healthier metabolic profi le.
Canadian researchers investigated this issue by testing cardiovascular benefi ts of long-term calcium supplementation in women with low calcium intake. Healthy, overweight or obese women with a daily calcium intake of less than 800 mg/day were randomly assigned to one of two groups: a group consuming two tablets/day of a calcium + vitamin D supplement (600 mg elemental calcium and 200 IU vitamin D/tablet), or a group consuming placebo. Both groups completed a 15-week reduced calorie weight-loss program.
Signifi cant decreases in LDL cholesterol levels, as well as the ratios of total to LDL and LDL to HDL were seen the calcium + vitamin D group. These changes were independent of changes due to fat loss and reduced waist circumference. A tendency for more benefi cial changes in HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and total cholesterol was also observed in the calcium+D group.
This was the fi rst study to show that calcium and vitamin D enhance the benefi cial effects of weight loss on cardiovascular risk factors in overweight women with typically low calcium intakes.

[1] Shielding Skin Cells’ Light Receptors Sensé uses an ingredient called TGP-2¹. It attaches itself to the light receptors on individual skin cells. It acts as a “molecular shield” to block and weaken the signal from the skin to produce tyrosinase. The skin’s signal to stimulate tyrosinase is weakened, hence slowing down the production of melanin from the very beginning of the melanin cascade.

It was a fun and joyous day at the USANA Hari Raya Open House in September where Distributors from all walks of life brought along friends and family to attend the event. Various exciting activities such as free Body Composition Index Consultation and Blood Pressure Check, One-Day Special Promotion, Special Lucky Draw, light refreshments, Nutrimeal Sampling and more were held during the Open House.
Apart from that, Gold Director Norwahida Ahmad shared about skincare tips on how to achieve healthy, beautiful skin through Sensé Blanc Balance Whitening Series, while a special health talk was conducted by USANA Nutritionist on how to change lives through supplementation. Emerald Director David Tee and Gold Director Muhammad Yunus Bin Abdul Rahman also shared about their life stories and experiences in USANA at a motivational session.

Congratulations to all the Distributors from Malaysia who will be attending the 2010 Gold Retreat in Taipei, Taiwan!
Thousands of USANA independent Distributors from different countries attended
the 2010 International Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, from August 25 – 28.
It was a great opportunity for Distributors to come together and share their
experiences, learn from each other, and rediscover their passion for all things. The
convention was also a terrifi c occasion for Distributors to meet others who share
similar goals and dreams. New goals and improvements to USANA’s business
models were also revealed at the event. Dr. Wentz and Dave Wentz were among
the speakers at the Convention who shared with the USANA family why the

USANA Celebration event in January, she announced that her
next goal was to be the fi rst Diamond Director in Malaysia.
Fred Cooper encouraged her as well. “I can’t wait to see how
surprised he is now!” she beamed.
For Annie, managing the USANA business is like a charity work
– helping as many people as one can to achieve true health and
true wealth. “USANA has truly helped to multiply my earnings,
and the best part is, before I fi nish my money, I get to enjoy
a new stream of income for the next week – it truly is a great
path towards fi nancial freedom. The USANA Compensation
Plan is fair – the more you sow, the more you reap. This is a
guarantee!” said Annie.
To succeed in USANA, Annie says that there are four important
factors - goals, desire, image, and product knowledge. “Setting
a clear goal is important. In fact, it is the fi rst and foremost
thing to do when you start your business, because with a clear
goal comes motivation, action and performance,” commented
Annie. “Secondly, we must have the desire to reach for the
sky. A person without the desire or ambition to do great things
will never succeed.” And because Annie placed her trust in the
company, products, system and Dr. Myron Wentz’ vision, she
made it to the Diamond Director rank.
“A person’s image plays an important role when it comes to
prospecting or meeting people. When you take care of your
image, it means you respect yourself and you respect others.
First impression is always important.” According to Annie, a
customer or prospect would decide in 3 seconds if they want
to work with you based on their fi rst impression of you. “When
we talk about image, it doesn’t mean that everything has to
be branded. It could be the colours of the clothes you wear,
how you match your clothes, looking neat and tidy, not too
heavy make-up, how you present yourself, your attitude and
so forth,” she said.
A person must be equipped with product knowledge when
prospecting. “When you are well-prepared, you are ready to
face the battle, because you represent USANA – a globally
known company with the best nutritional products!
“We must believe and build our leaders, because in return,
your leaders will believe and build your USANA business. Don’t
waste time complaining, getting angry, feeling jealous or being
selfi sh. To be a successful leader in USANA, you must learn
how to analyse before you act, be willing to face challenges
and embrace gratitude,” says Annie.
She feels that the choice that a person makes is far more
important than the hard work that one puts in. In direct selling,
word of mouth is crucial. “Your reputation is built on how you
treat others around you. Doing the right thing is not enough;
knowing what to do at the right time is how you stand out
from the rest.
Annie believes that to be successful in direct selling, one has
to constantly acquire the knowledge that is essential in this
industry. “I will always make it a point to attend all trainings.
Those who are successful are those who enjoy learning. We
need to constantly improve ourselves and our image!”
Lastly, she would like to share this with everyone – “Fate is
beyond our control, but success is in our hands. Don’t ever

Jason and Sydney love travelling and going for holidays, either internationally or domestically during their free time. On top of that, Jason loves golfi ng and Sydney enjoys cooking. “I am a Director of Metal Trading & Service Centre business while Sydney is an insurance agent, but in spite of our work, we enjoy taking care of our two lovely daughters and focus a lot on their upbringing and daily needs,” said Jason.
He had a couple of health issues before taking USANA products, and even though the situation was not very bad, he was still quite concerned about his health because he was “penalised” to pay a 25% extra premium on his insurance – something that an insurance company would never do if a person’s health was normal. He knew about this because Sydney is in the insurance industry.
“To build a career in USANA, you need a lot of perseverance and determination, but it will reward us with the life that we have always wanted,” noted Jason. Now, he has more quality time with his children and wife.
Both of them have dreamt of retiring early and retiring rich. “We want to be able to spend our ‘younger years’ travelling around the world with our children. We want to make sure that our children’s education is well taken care of, and we know that giving them the best requires a lot of money. We believe that through USANA, we will be able to do just that!” he said. For Jason, USANA is a great business to be in. It is a business where the best products are sold for the betterment of people’s lives. To be able to succeed in the business, one should have a positive mentality about USANA. “We must have 100% confi dence in the products and be ‘in love’ with USANA. Make it a personal mission to help Dr. Wentz achieve his vision.” He continued, “We have been in this business for around 11 months now, and we are enjoying it – not because of the income that we earn from the business, but rather because it is a business that shares about the importance of taking care of our health through supplements that are safe and eff ective.”
Apart from working at the management level, Eric Wan, a Managing Director, and HK Chua, an Admin & Finance Manager of a logistic Company, are also involved in some fi eld works and oversee the overall performance of the company. Although they work very hard in their business, Eric Wan & HK Chua do enjoy a little leisure in life such as singing and playing golf every Sunday morning to relax themselves and balance out their busy lifestyle.
“Before joining USANA, we felt the need to improve our health. We did exercise a little, but we still felt that it was not enough. I started putting on weight and getting out of shape as time went by,” said Chua. She also said that her cholesterol level was on the high side, her eyesights were getting weak and she needed to have long hours of sleep.
“Back then, I didn’t have a good grasp of how USANA products work, and that was my greatest challenge. But after taking the products for some time, my level of confi dence with the products increased and I felt more energetic and much healthier. In fact, I saw signifi cant improvement in my health,” noted Chua.
She felt that it was only right for them to introduce such quality products to their loved ones, relatives, friends and the people around them. Chua commented, “Most people don’t really understand how supplements work and how they can help to maintain good health. Most people are not aware of the eff ectiveness of supplements because they are so used to taking medicine. But I believe that this scenario will change.”
Both Eric and Chua hope to encourage more people to live a healthy lifestyle by exercising and taking nutritional supplements. When a good friend introduced Josephine Sim to USANA, she wasn’t interested at all. Then, her friend brought along the upline to meet up with Josephine, yet she was still not convinced. After some time, Josephine decided to try out the products and to her astonishment, she experienced changes in her health. Josephine said, “I felt healthier after taking the products and I started to believe in the products. As I got to know USANA better, I decided to take a step further by joining the company.”
Prior to joining USANA, she was working as a wholesaler. “I used to be very busy with work, and my working hours were fi xed. But now, I have more free time and my working hours are fl exible. I have ample time to lay my foundation and build a solid USANA business. This is something that I’ve been longing for!” commented Josephine.
From someone who didn’t know anything to a successful Gold Director today, she owes her success to her upline and her supportive team members. “My upline has put so much eff ort into the business and he has inspired me to do
likewise. A big thanks to my upline Wang Bai Lu for his help and guidance, and not forgetting Jesmond Siow, Sam Yui, and all my team members.”
When asked about how one can further strengthen his or her USANA business, Josephine simply replied, “Consume the products, try the products. If you do not personally try the products, you will have a hard time convincing others about the benefi ts of them.” True enough, many of her downlines joined USANA because they have experienced the goodness of the products after taking them. “Having the skill to sell the products is not enough – remember, we must also take the products in order to understand the products well and sell them with the right mindset,” she emphasized.
Her goal in USANA is to continue to work hard and help more downlines to advance to higher ranks, to help them to enjoy fi nancial freedom and to earn more residual income.
Tham Pui Leng did not join USANA instantly when her sister Pamela introduced her to USANA. She was reluctant to try out the products and rejected her sister several times. Finally after much persuasion from her sister, she decided to take the products. “I did not have much expectation when trying the products until I saw a signifi cant improvement in my health. The products were eff ective and simply amazing!” she exclaimed.
Before joining USANA, she did not receive her income promptly in her former job. “It isn’t hard for anybody to realise the earning potential in the USANA business and enjoy lucrative rewards through the compensation plan. I was with another MLM company previously before being introduced to USANA, but it did not off er the benefi ts that USANA has.” Currently, Tham Pui Leng is a full-time Distributor of USANA, and her fi nancial situation has also changed since joining USANA. “I never had a stable
income before joining USANA, but now, I’m able to see gradual growth in my earning.”
She believes that to be successful in the business, it is important to fi nd the right people and do the right things, where every team member works hand-in-hand with one another. “Use the right method to do the right things daily, and with the help of great leaders and the dreams you’ve always envisioned, you’ll be motivated to reach for your goals,” said Pui Leng. She would like to take this opportunity to thank her sister Pamela Tham, Ye Feng lao shi, all her uplines and downlines, as well as USANA for giving her the support.
Apart from working towards achieving the Ruby Director rank in 2011, she hopes to help more downlines to advance to the rank of Silver and above.
Devan & Ann had wanted to become involved in an international business, and after looking at a few options, they stumbled upon USANA in late 2006. “We found a company with an excellent core business to off er. We tried the products and their impact lived up to researched reputation,” they said.
This has given them a credible basis to set up a network of contacts in Malaysia and abroad, and in turn helped them understand instantly on “how to set up networks”, not just for USANA but for multiple streams of income as well. “Since we became Gold Directors, we weighed up strategies to move our USANA business forward at a faster rate. We felt that our business could continue to grow rapidly. We fi ne-tuned our goals, improved on our time organization and methodology, worked on a more diverse outreach of “go-to” markets, and identifi ed areas to upgrade ourselves,” said both of them. As in any partnership, they also needed to work on making decisions more streamlined and effi cient, and they are absolutely excited for the future!
Their team support was dependable, outstanding, and organized. “We would like to thank all our mentors, in particular, Simon Chan, Raymond Tan and Ken Ong for their invaluable support. We are also grateful to all the staff of USANA Malaysia, especially Sabrina Khoo for always being classy, untiring in assistance and support. With over 18 years of experience as a beautician, Candice Chong Siew Chu was fi rst introduced to USANA by her sister. According to her sister, the products are packed with goodness, and her sister experienced the eff ectiveness of the products after consuming them, so she recommended Candice to try out the products.
“The reason I joined USANA was because of its guaranteed quality, and also because I would be entitled to a better price - and best of all, I would be able to receive residual income building this business. And with that, I started working hard and shared about USANA with friends and relatives around me,” said Candice.
When Candice started her USANA business, she was faced with diff erent challenges, such as being rejected by friends, customers having doubts over the new products and so
forth. “There were times I felt very down and discouraged, but I refused to give up and continued to push forward. It took me some time to learn up and understand about the products and business, and later shared with others,” she said.

After working as a civil engineer for 8 years, Simon Kam started his own business in the construction industry for 17 years since 1993. “I was very open-minded to all kinds of wealth building seminars, investing time and money to learn ways to build passive residual income via properties investment, trading, internet marketing, infopreneur business and network marketing,” said Simon.
Simon has been looking for a good network marketing business to build his next Wealth Pillar. When Emily’s friend told her how great USANA products were, she was sceptical about it. “My friends kept telling me about the products and how the products have helped improve their health, but I was doubtful about it,” said Emily. But to fi nd out if they were telling the truth, she tried the products. “Much to my amazement, I felt better after taking the products, and without any hesitation, I joined USANA,” she commented. Today, Emily has committed her time to become a full-time USANA Distributor.
Through USANA, she gained a lot of health knowledge, met many new friends, learned how to manage a business and deal with diff erent people, and so forth. While she was in the run to achieving the Gold Director rank, she worked closely with her team where everyone helped and supported one another to advance to a higher rank. “A special thanks to my upline Yurko for her unceasing help and guidance, while not forgetting Wendy, Steven Chen, all my team members and the staff of USANA especially the Network Development team for their support,” said Emily.

From someone who rejected USANA to someone who puts 100% of trust in USANA, Yap Siey Mei says she was glad that her upline Tham Pui Leng never stopped sharing with her about USANA. “I was staying somewhere else for 6 months and after moving back to my current place, Tham Pui Leng visited me frequently to talk about USANA. After several times, I fi nally gave in and tried it,” said Siey Mei. She felt a change in her health and started telling friends about USANA.
“USANA has changed my life. I’m so happy to be in USANA now. My health has improved, I feel more vibrant, and I get to enjoy fi nancial freedom too!
