Dear Sir/Madam,
I am doing Ph.D. at S.H.P.T. School of Library Science, S.N.D.T. Women's
University, Mumbai. My topic of research is 'Solo Librarians in Mumbai : A Study'.
Solo librarians are the librarians who work single-handedly without
professional peers in the library. Identifying role efficacy and its locus of control will
help in understanding solo librarians in the right perspective. The main objective of
this study is to find out whether there is any significant relationship between the role
efficacy and locus of control of solo librarians.
In order to collect necessary information to fulfill the objectives of the study, I am
collecting data using the enclosed questionnaire. The questionnaire is in three parts:
Part I requests you for data regarding yourself, your library and your work therein.
Parts II and III are two instruments viz., Role efficacy scale of Udai Pareek and
Rotter's I. -E. Control Scale.
II There are twenty groups of statements given in role efficacy scale. Each
group is having three statements. Please tick one statement from each group
that most accurately describes your own experience in your organizational
role.

III I.-E. Control Scale consists of 29 items with pair of statements (a) and (b).
Please select and tick one statement of each pair, which is strongly believed to be
true by you.
