Job Ref No DD/2012/0019 Position SAFETY INSPECTOR Department SAFETY Reporting to Supervisor Responsibility Issue and control of Safety permits. Monitoring work on-board and other yard areas to identify potential hazards and instigate remedial actions. Coordinating with the vessel safety representatives. Updating the coordination board on each vessel as required. Investigation of accidents and incidents and reporting on it. Maintaining safety records for each vessel. Emergency Response Team. Conducting Safety Training. Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head. Preferred Competencies Should have a recognized qualification in Safety (IOSH / NEBOSH general certificate equivalent.) and be able to demonstrate experience of working in a safety capacity. Proficiency use of MS Office applications. Good command of English Language. Confident and able to effectively communicate at all levels. Experience 3 years experience as a Safety Inspector or similar position in ship repair, particularly with VLCC's / ULCC's.
