Bell’s Palsy

Bell’s Palsy – what happens

• A paralysis or weakness of the muscles on one

side of the face.

• Damage to the seventh facial nerve that

control the muscles on one side of the face

causing the side of the face to droop .

• The nerve damage may also affect your sense

of taste and how you make tears and saliva.

Causing impaired function:

• Difficulty closing one eye.

• Difficulty eating and drinking; food falls out of one side of the mouth.

• Dribling due to lack of control over the muscles of the face.

• Drooping of the face, such as the eyelid or corner of the mouth.

• Problems smiling, grimacing, or making facial expressions.

• Twitching or weakness of the muscles in the face.

• Other symptoms that may occur:

• Dry eye, which may lead to eye sores or infections.

• Dry mouth.

• Headache.

• Loss of sense of taste.

• Sound that is louder in one ear (hyperacusis).

• Twitching in face.• University of Maryland Medical System In Partnership with the University of Maryland School of Medicine

Recovery

• For most patients, recovery begins within 3

weeks. The sooner the onset of recovery, the

better the final outcome.

• If paralysis persists without recovery for more

than 3 months, persistent problems are more

likely.

Approximate Recovery %

• 80 percent of patients with total paralysis will recover satisfactorily.

• About 17 percent of patients have mild dysfunction. This may include a slight weakness of the face or an occasional twitch of the lip or eye.

• 4 percent may have more significant dysfunction, such as persistent weakness or spasms.

Outcome Medically

• If there is no recovery within 6 months, a re-

evaluation by a physician is necessary.

• This may lead to surgery which restricts the

problems but does not solve them.

Lady 79 years old presenting in April 2009 for

InterX treatment after suffering Bell’s Palsy 6

months earlier.

• She had been told by the NHS she would have

to learn to live with her condition.

InterX Treatment

• Treated weekly for 6 weeks using nerve and

muscle protocols on the face and using the

head comb protocol, as taught by Dr Zulia

Frost.

• Rested for 2 weeks.

• Followed up by another 2 treatments at 2

Since 2009 I have treated with InterX

8 people with varying degrees of

the aftermath effects of Bell’s Palsy.

All have had between 90 to 100% recovery.

• The bowel to impact or ‘back up’.

• Bloating

• Pain

Causes of bowel Stricturing

Frequency

• Either weekly or fortnightly.

• Once the readings are regular the treatment is

complete.

• After 6 treatments if there are still high

readings rest for 4 weeks.

• Start treatment again until the readings are

regular.

I developed this protocol in 2002 and

have been using it on 1 to 3 people

weekly in my practice ever since.

Plantar Facsiitis

Why I developed this In-clinic treatment in 2015.

NHS Hospital Treatment Protocol.

Qualification for treatment: Wheelchair bound

or walking with crutches.

Treatment:

Painful high intensity single frequency. Giving a

sensation of burning which could only be

tolerated for about 5 minutes.

NHS versus InterX

How does the NHS treatment work?

It switches the pain receptors off. Eventually

it would wear off so repeated treatment was necessary.

InterX works on variable Frequency/pulse so

it can an re-programme the body.
