Report 2012-13
1. Organization Growth.
“Ankur” is a welfare organization registered under Societies Act-
1860 in the year 1994 and since its inception it has under taken various
works for the development of Women and Child. Basically it is an
implementing agency providing services to the various stake holders but
is also working for the legal and reproductive right for the women.
During the year 2012-13, the organization has made tremendous growth
in the term of work and finance. During this period it has not only able to
continue its good progress in the existing projects but has added more
program. The approval to the Orchard Development program under
Tribal Development Fund by the NABARD & Program on Declining Sex
Ratio by the Population Foundation of India has added new dimension in
the community base activities of the organization. During the year the
NABARD awarded “Ankur” as best NGO working in the field.

The progress made in the existing program.
1. Watershed Development Program-Sidhchaler, Amb block of District
Una, is a big program covering 1138 hectare of land of around 1200
families of 3 revenue Panchyat.

During the year we are not only able to cover the preliminary phase
of 56 hectare but able to complete interim phase of 108 hectare of
land sanctioned for the year 12-13. The proposal for final phase is
under approval and will start soon after completion of the interim
phase. This is a community lead program supported by Watershed
Development committee in the concern villages. The farmers clubs
and PRI are also helping in net planning process hope fully, final
phase covering around 500 hectare of land will soon takes a takeoff.

2. Enhancement in productivity in lead crops in Deoli Cluster.
This was started in the month of October 2011 and has successfully
completed its one and half period. The aim of the program is to
increase the production and reduce the cost by using sustainable
measurers. The proper use of Pest, Nutrient and soil management
can make this happen and this was the sole purpose under this
program. The target to cover 27 hectare of land under seed
production has been achieved and it has reached 57 hectare during
the last season. The number of soil samples has reached 700 and
coverage of farmers is increasing day by day. All the land under seed

Seed certification and also benefitted under Food Grantee Program.
All the farmers covered under this program are given free seed,
pesticides, fertilizers and training.
The production in the cluster has also increased and introduction of
System of Wheat intensification method has shown its results. Now
the emphasis is make farmers self sustained and continue this good
work after the completion of the program. In the absence of
irrigation facilities all the program are based on rains hence making
things more difficult.

3. Orchard development program under Tribal Development Fund.
The wadi development program for the tribal people was a
innovative and pilot project under taken by the organization for the first
time in Himachal Pradesh. It took one year to prepare Detail Project
Report and get it finalized by the NABARD. But this program covering 220
tribal families got approval during the year 12-13. Under this program 150
tribal families shall be provided with developed wadi of 1 acre and other
70 families shall be given financial help to develop dairy.
This program eith a total outlay of 92.68 lakh support the villagers for 5
years through this organization and health, training are other key factor
that would also be covered under this program. During the last year 125
families under wadi and 64 families cove under Dairy has been covered
and next year all the families would be covered under this program. Total
grant by the NABARD per families is Rs. 26100/- per families and subsidy
under DDS is 33% and only Rs. 7800/- out of Rs. 58000/- is being paid by
the families for getting two animals. All the other families are also getting
Rs. 26100/- grant for developing wadies in their land and for five years
technical support from the Program Implementing Agencies (Ankur) shall
be provided through the TDF by the NABARD.
4. Self Help Group
The self help groups program was launched with 50 SHG in the year 2010-
11 and at present it has 630 members with a cumulative saving of Rs.
259685/-. Out of 50 SHG 24 are linked with the bank for credit linkage and
at present their total 207000/- and their internal lending has crossed an
amount equal to 459685/-. Regular training on bank linkage, account
maintenance, and self reliance is being given to the members and one
group is engaged in soap making is doing a good business in the local
areas.

One training in Kashmiri Embroidery one training in skin care was
also provided to the members of the SHGs. Regular visit by the motivators
also the members in keeping their accounts up dates. Project Monitoring
and Implementing committee constituting members from the NABARD,
Banks & organization monitor the progress and give their valuable
suggestions to the members.
5. Farmers Club & Village Development Plan Program
Financial grant of Rs 10000/- per year is being given to the each
farmers to peruse their common cause related to the farmers. It is a
NABARD sponsored scheme and available in each village. The
organization has targeted to organize 110 farmers club in the
Himachal Pradesh. Out of which 50 in the Tissa block of Chamba
district and 60 in the Una District. The organization has able launch
87 farmers in the last years and other are working efficiently.
Exposure visit to nearby area of interest are being undertaken for the
members of the farmers clubs. All the farmers are also engaged in
other work under taken by the organization in their areas. They are
part of the planning process.

6. Reproductive Child Health (RCH) Program for urban Migrant.
The Department of family Welfare and Health, HP under NRHM has
sanctioned two RCH units for the organization at Tahliwal and
Gagret.

Under this program two ANM has been appointed and trained
to provide Mother and Child Health services to the targeted urban
migrant population. The ANM is responsible to provide
immunization, sterilization, MTP, other services as available in the
health faculties. At present there are around 1200 families are being
benefitted and regular IEC camps and other facilities is provided at
the door step of the migrant population on their convenience.
7. Arresting declining sex ration & Reproductive Right of Women.
This program is running 30 Panchyat and have more than 300
members from the community and 100 members from PRI. In each
village Kanya Bachao Samiti (KBS) has been formed which includes all
the members from each stake holders, like Anganwari Workers,
Health Functionaries, Mahila Mandal, Ward members. Each KBS is
being given technical training on all aspect of PNDT Act, Domestic
Violence And Reproductive Right. In addition to this they regularly
assemble and take stock of the position regarding sex ratio and un
law full termination of pregnancies.

8. Program on the Legal Right of the Single Women.
The help desk program to help the single women in getting their due
right is a one program that gives the women to get their due that she
is being denied due to her help lessness. Under this program all the
single women, whatever may be reason of her single are given a legal
and other help so that she may not feel alone. She is helped to get
