What are Custom Animations or Animation Effects?

Custom animations or animation effects (either term is correct), are the motions applied to objects on your slide, such as pictures, text and other graphics.

Custom animations differ from transitions. Transitions are applied to the slide itself, whereas animations are applied to the objects on the slide.

An animated object can help focus the audience's attention on an important point. For detailed lists of information, the presenter can use animations to get the most "value" for the space on the slide by moving objects on and off the slide. The animation effects can add a flair and perhaps an element of surprise to the presentation.
