Animal Arrays

Before our trip to the Baltimore Zoo, students researched various animals they wanted to learn more about. They used

this information from the Baltimore Zoo website to build rectangular arrays.

Great White Sharks

6+6+6+6=24

Great white sharks can weigh more than 4,500 pounds and 2,000 kilograms.

Polar Bear

3 + 3 + 3 = 9

9 polar bears are as lovable as can be their mothers and fathers take care of their cubs.

Rattlesnake

4+4+4=12 or 3x4=12

My timber rattlesnakes are 3-4.5 feet 91-137 cm and lives in New York.

Flamingo

5+5+5+5=20

Flamingos eat shrimp.

Panda Bear

4+4+4+4+4+4+=24

Pandas mainly eat bamboo.

Mud Puppies

4 + 4 + 4 = 12

Mudpuppies are opportunistic feeders will eat anything they can catch.

Zebra

Zebra are often the first grazers to enter a well vegetated area.

Giraffe

Flamingos

Flamingos often stand on one leg when resting or sleeping.

Leopards

Leopards eat birds and snakes.

Snake

Snake are poisonous and deadly they can kill you in a instant.

Owen & Mzee

In the African savannah these are one of the most successful species in this habitat.

Arctic Fox

4+4+4=12 and 3x4 = 12
