    is section is applicable to,

    Foreign citizens (irrespective of whether they are resident in SriLanka or overseas) who are above 18 years of age. Corporate bodies incorporated or established outside Sri Lanka Regional or country funds approved by the SEC Citizens of Sri Lanka who are above 18 years of age andresident overseas

    Te abovementioned applicants should make their paymentsusing one of the following methods (as applicable)

    (a) A Foreign Investor may invest through aSecurities Invest-ment Account (SIA) maintained with any commercial bank inSri Lanka. Te procedure for arranging payments through a SIAis presented below.

    - A Foreign Investor may use the services of a custodian bank asan intermediary when investing in the Sri Lankan Securitiesmarket.

    - Te intermediary may open a SIA on the investors behalf andif the investor so requires the intermediary will also assist withthe opening of a CDS Account for the investor.

    - In respect to regional or country funds investing for the rsttime in Sri Lanka the intermediary will facilitate the approvalprocess regulated by the SEC.

    - Payment for shares should be made through a cheque or bankdraft or an unconditional bank guarantee against the funds inthe SIA and made payable to Anilana Hotels & PropertiesLimited Initial Public Oering.

    (b) A Foreign Investor may invest through inward remittances offoreign currency held in a Foreign Currency Banking Unit(FCBU) account of the applicant maintained with any commer-cial bank in Sri Lanka.- Te applicant should forward the Application Form supportedby an unconditional bank guarantee drawn on the applicantsFCBU account pending allotment of shares.

    - Upon allotment of shares, foreign currency to the extent of the

    Sri Lankan Rupee equivalent value of shares allotted would becalled on the bank guarantee drawn on the applicants FCBUaccount. Te requisite funds would then be credited to a SIAopened in favour of the applicant via the aforementioned FCBUaccount.

    - Tis procedure would protect a prospective investor from anylosses accruing due to uctuating exchange rates.

    (c) In addition to (a) and (b) above, a foreign citizen resident inSri Lanka under the Resident Guest Scheme may invest throughthe Resident Guest Foreign Currency Account (RGFCA)maintained with any commercial bank in Sri Lanka. An

    investor who wishes to avail him/herself of this facility shouldmake the payment for shares through a bank draft or an uncon-ditional bank guarantee against the funds in the RGFCA andmade payable to Anilana Hotels & Properties Limited Initial Public Oering.

    (d) Non resident Sri Lankans may make their investmentsthrough Rupee Accounts for Non Resident Sri Lankan Invest-

    ment (RANSI) maintained with a commercial bank in SriLanka.

    - Sri Lankan citizens who have left the country to take upemployment, business or profession and continue to resideabroad and those citizens of Sri Lanka who have made theirpermanent place of abode outside Sri Lanka are eligible tooperate a RANSI with commercial banks.

    - Remittances by non-resident Sri Lankans in connection withthis share Application Form must be made via bank draftspurchased out of funds in the RANSI. Tere are no exchange

    control restrictions on remittance of funds that may be availablein a RANSI.

    - Where a RANSI holder is also the holder of a Non ResidentForeign Currency (NRFC) account, movement of fundsbetween a RANSI and a NRFC account holder is freely permit-ted, so long as the account holder continues to reside abroad anddoes not cease to be a citizen of Sri Lanka. Terefore funds in theNRFC account could be transferred to a RANSI through whichinvestment in shares could be made.

    Cheques or bank drafts or bank guarantees from LicensedCommercial Banks should be endorsed by the issuing

    custodian bank, to the eect that such payment has beenmade against funds available in the applicants SIA/FCBUaccount. e endorsement must be clearly indicated on thecheque or bank draft or bank guarantee. Alternatively adocument detailing the endorsement could be submittedalong with the payment and Application.

    Bank drafts or bank guarantees drawn on a RGFCA or bankdrafts drawn on a RANSI account should also be endorsed inline with the above.

    Applications supported by foreign currency remittances

    should be made in conformity with requisite declarationsaccompanied by the documentation stipulated by theController of Exchange.
