INTRODUCTION

Selenium is a chemical element with symbol Se and atomicnumber 34 Selenium has six naturally occurring isotopesfive of which are stable 74Se 76Se 77Se 78Se and 80Sehexagonal crystal lattice consisting of helical polymericchains wherein the Se-Se distance is 2373 pm and Se-Se-Seangle is 1301 degrees

commercial uses for selenium today are in glassmaking andin pigments Selenium is a semiconductor and is used inphotocells

Selenium are major role in medical field as a drugs againstto Keratin fungus and HIV Cancer Tuberculosis OtherEpidemics Diseases for beneficial to human and animals

Selenium salts are toxic in large amounts but trace amountsare necessary for cellular function in many organismsincluding all animals
