Anika Nilles part 3 - Lesson Notes Ok, we’re nearly done with Alter Ego. All we have left is the 16 bar solo section… In the video I explain what’s going on and how to approach it. Basically the whole thing is in 16th notes, but it’s using various odd groupings of notes.!!The trick is to be able to know where the 1/4 note pulse is and where you are in the bars.!!When you’re working on this stuff play it slowly and count out 4 bar sections out loud: !!1 2 3 4 2 2 3 4 3 2 3 4 4 2 3 4!!This is very hard to do, but it’ll force you to know where you are in the bar.!!The easier way to play it is to just know how many of the odd note groups you can play to fit into a 4 bar section. Then you just focus on those and you’ve already figured out where you’re going to be when you’re done.!!Like I said, it’s better to watch the video to understand this.!!Good luck!!
