PROGRAM FACILITATOR: Beth Giordano MA, CAMF

Beth has her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Christian Counseling from

the National Christian Counselors Association. She is also Board Certified

with the NCCA in the following areas: Temperament Counselor,

Integrated Marriage & Family Therapy, Advanced Child & Adolescent

Therapy, Group Therapy, and Crisis & Abuse Therapy. Beth is also a

Certified Anger Management Facilitator through Anderson & Anderson.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: You will benefit from learning Cognitive-Behavioral-

Relaxation techniques that will help each participant to begin dealing with anger

and stressful situations in a more controlled way. We use a “Whole Person”

approach to managing anger by assessing anger and how it can be impacted

positively or negatively within all three areas of our lives; physically, cognitively,

and spiritually. If even one of these areas is out of balance the highest level of

anger management will not be fully attained.

• Physically – The food we eat can greatly affect our behavior. Our bodies are

very complex in structure having voluntary and involuntary reactions that are

regulated by our neurological system. If anything interrupts these delicate

impulses we can become irritable, angry and unreasonable. The food we eat

and the lifestyle we choose can have a huge impact on our emotional

wellness and ability to control our actions.

• Cognitively – The way we think about the events that take place in our lives

can have a direct impact on how we respond to them. Learning to use positive

life skills can help to reduce or even eliminate the negative reactions that can

come from our own angry feelings. Knowing how to communicate with family,

friends, and co-workers in a way that will bring reconciliation and/or

compromise is also a vital key to acquiring proper anger management.

• Spiritually – Accepting the truth that the God who created you desires to

have a personal relationship with you that can help you overcome the

negative behaviors that are connected with your anger – can be life changing!

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME:

• You are expected to fulfill your commitment to coming to the weekly sessions

on time and ready to participate. Graduation certificates will not be acquired

unless 9 out of 10 sessions are attended.

• You are expected to contact your program facilitator if an emergency arises

and you will not be able to come to your regularly scheduled session.

• You are expected to use personal life situations whenever possible, within our

classroom setting, in order to practice the life skills that are being taught.

• You are expected to practice confidentiality with other’s shared experiences.

• You are expected to practice each new life skill outside of class as well as being

able to explain how you applied them in your own day to day life.

• You are expected to treat everyone in attendance with respect and to conduct

yourself without the use of foul or degrading language. No physical contact of

any kind will be tolerated.

• You are expected to turn all electronic devices and cell phones off during our

time together.

NUMBER & LENGTH OF SESSIONS: This is a 10 week group program giving you

the opportunity to gradually build and practice each new life skill until you have

mastered the techniques within the classroom setting. We will be meeting for 1 ½

hours each week.

STARTING DATE OF SESSIONS: Seats are limited. Call or text for additional

information or to be put on a waiting list for upcoming sessions (585) 208-9365

WHAT IS THE COST OF PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROGRAM: The cost for this 8

week program in a group setting is $75 for all 8 sessions.

THIS IS A FAITH-BASED, SKILL-DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – IT IS NOT A

COUNSELING SESSION. Counseling sessions are recommended for some

participants in addition to this skill development program as they complement

each other very well. Gaining an understanding of how your family history,

personal relationships, and other life issues have impacted the way you deal with

your day to day life dynamics can be very insightful for some.
