Calumet-Anduhyaun Series Calumet College presents Anduhyaun – a Response to Violence Against Aboriginal Women Panelists are: Simone Hillier is of the Bear Clan and a member of the Bearfoot Onondaga Nation from Ohsweken's Six Nations of the Grand River. Simone is the Life Skills programmer and Crisis Counselor at Anduhyaun. Simone has been a Crisis support/Life Skills counselor at Anduhyaun for 15 years. Brenda Jacobs is an Ojibwa woman from Serpent River First Nation, ON. She is of the Bear Clan and conducts Full Moon Ceremony and Healing Circles for Abuse Survivors. Brenda is the Sexual Assault Counselor at Anduhyuan. Chantele Christiansen was aware of her Native roots, however she did not have an opportunity to experience her Native culture until her early twenties. This lack of connection caused her to struggle with her own identity and as such she has an understanding of those who also struggle with theirs. Chantele is a Front-line Counselor at Anduhyaun. Paula Putman was born in Southern Ontario, and raised on Manitoulin Island where her mother’s family hails from. Although Paula is not Native, she had a great deal of exposure to the Native culture through her work on Manitoulin Island. She has a Minor in Native Human Studies. Paula is the current Shelter Director of Anduhyaun. Tracy Sauve is a member of the Chippewas of Nawash First Nation, Neyaashiinigmiing Indian Reserve No. 27. She is of the Wolf Clan. She was born and lived most of her life in Toronto, Ontario. She works as the Director of Resident Support Services at Nekenan Second Stage Housing, which provides transitional housing to Aboriginal Women and Children. Panelists are:
