Leja Human Semen Analysis Slides

Covered with a special coating to prevent air bubble formation and to stop semen from sticking to the chamber surface. Leja slides have an excellent low limit of quantification for low sperm counts and can handle high sperm concentrations. The clinical implication of this is that the lab is well equipped to determine a threshold to choose between IUI, IVF, or ICSI for example.

The high level of accuracy and precision of the Leja chambers will allow your results to be compared with other laboratories’ scientific data concerning the relationship between semen parameters (concentration, motility, viscosity) and fertility.

Leja Human Azoospermia & Post-Vasectomy Slides

The Leja 100 micron slide has two purposes. First, it can be used to determine azoospermia, secondly it can be used to perform a post-vasectomy check.

Due to the large, fixed volume of the chamber, the Leja method for determining azoospermia is the most accurate, reliable and time-saving procedure to determine azoospermia and very low sperm count (0- 20,000/ml). The Leja 100 micron slide is the best way of getting a statistical meaningful result combined with speed.

Leja Rat Toxicology Slides

These slides are specially developed for toxicology research with rat sperm and have a maximum chamber height deviation of 10%. Not suitable for post-vasectomy checks.

To accommodate all sample types, the 2X-CEL chambers are easily loaded by either the capillary action or drop method.

The 20 micron 2X-CEL slide is designed for human semen analysis with a special hydrophobic barrier to guard against overfilling, resulting in increased accuracy in determination of sperm concentrations and total counts. Developed specifically for motility analysis of rat sperm, the 80 micron 2X-CEL provides an easy to handle, clean alternative to the cannula.

Accu-Beads®+ Quality Control of Manual & CASA Sperm Counting

Hamilton Thorne Accu-Beads+ consist of known concentrations of latex beads (3, 8 and 35 M/ml) suspended in a aqueous solution. Similar in size to human sperm, the Accu-Beads+ have been developed to confirm accurate counting procedures used for routine semen analysis.

For manual methods, Accu-Beads+ are used to evaluate the actual counting procedures practiced. When used in an automated semen analyser, they test and evaluate the optical and image acquisition system of the analyser. Accu-Beads+ now have twice the shelf life - 2 years.

Oxidative stress occurs when the production of potentially destructive reactive oxygen species exceeds the body’s own natural antioxidant defenses, resulting in cellular damage.

The MiOXSYS test utilises electrochemical technology for the qualitative measurement (millivolts [mV]) of static Oxidation-Reduction Potential (sORP) in human semen. It is intended for professional use in conjunction with standard semen analysis parameters (ejaculate volume, total sperm, sperm concentration, total motility, progressive motility, and morphology) as an aid to assess semen quality.
