Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert is an exuberant concert staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic rock opera.  Filmed  in front of a large

audience in Brooklyn, N.Y., the show features an all-star cast: John Legend as

Jesus Christ, Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, Brandon Victor Dixon as

Judas, Alice Cooper as King Herod, Ben Daniels as Pontius Pilate, Norm Lewis as

Caiaphas, Jin Ha as Annas, Jason Tam as Peter and Erik Gronwall as Simon Zealots. 

Imagine a deconstructed Sistine Chapel…. A rock concert in an amphitheater-like setting, originating from the cavernous New York State Armory in Brooklyn. The presentation is designed to deliver a true rock opera.

The multi-level stage will prominently feature 32 musicians visible to the audience and interacting with the cast.

Performed in front of a live audience of 1,300+ in stadium style seating, with some standing right at the lip of the stage in a “mosh pit”. Their emotive energy becomes part of the production. A selection of the 10+ cameras will be strategically placed within the audience to capture the interaction with the actors and production.
